Tony , thank you so much for joining us today. Let’s jump right into something we’re really interested in hearing about from you – being the only one in the room. So many of us find ourselves as the only woman in the room, the only immigrant or the only artist in the room, etc. Can you talk to us about how you have learned to be effective and successful in situations where you are the only one in the room like you?
Oh absolutely. Despite often entering rooms where few, if any, share my appearance, I experience neither nervousness nor a sense of alienation. My resolve is anchored not in proving my worth to those present, but in honoring my ancestors and those who have sacrificed greatly to secure my place at virtually every table. This profound sense of purpose transcends external validation, empowering me with a deep-seated confidence and belonging, irrespective of the immediate surroundings.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
One of my greatest passions in life is acting in a variety of film projects, including commercials, short films, feature-length movies, and more. I am dedicated to honing my craft and becoming the best actor I can be. Despite having worked on over 25 projects, the journey remains challenging yet enriching. Each day offers new lessons, influenced by the dynamics and politics of the industry. My love for filmmaking stems from the opportunity it provides to tell stories that resonate with audiences, bridging connections through shared experiences. I am committed to leading any project to success, driven by my determination and ability to deeply understand the characters I portray. As for my acting career, I’m excited about what the future holds and eagerly anticipate sharing more compelling stories with viewers and filmmakers alike. If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Professionalism, authenticity, and humility are the three pillars that have significantly shaped my journey. The paths I’ve chosen have been fraught with risk, largely because I originate from a background unfamiliar to many, a place whose experiences are rarely seen by others. Despite facing those who doubt my place alongside them, I’ve steadfastly refused to be marginalized. Remaining true to myself is a principle I hold dear, never forgetting my roots and always acknowledging that circumstances can change. My humility is a reminder of where I’ve been and the ease with which life can shift. Professionalism is paramount to me; it’s about conducting business ethically and treating everyone with respect. These core values have guided my journey, ensuring I navigate my path with integrity and purpose. The best advice I can give, is be you and trust your process. Never compare yourself to anyone on social media. You have absolutely no idea what kind of battles they are facing and some will never be brave enough to share those battles with you. No one can be better than being you, but you.

In high school, I was introduced to “Think and Grow Rich” by Dennis Kimbro and Napoleon Hill, a book that profoundly impacted my outlook on life. A particular concept from the book resonated deeply with me: the power of mindset. The authors emphasized that if you harbor the mentality of scarcity, you’ll inevitably embody that scarcity. Conversely, adopting a mindset of abundance propels you toward wealth and success. This principle of mindset being paramount has guided me ever since. Surrounding myself with like-minded individuals who share a similar vision of abundance and growth has further reinforced this belief, magnifying its effect on my life and aspirations.
