Meet Tony Sosa

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tony Sosa. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Tony with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
My work ethic, comes from my parents. They showed us the value of hard work and earning money at a young age. Born and raised by immigrant parents, who came here to give us a better life, by working hard. Which at a young age taught me that I can achieve anything I want as long as I work hard, put my mind to it and accomplish it.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am a bilingual (Spanish/english) wedding and events dj. I began at the age of 12 with the interest of djing and slowly I was able to get my own thing started. I dj numerous clubs and house parties when I first started off, and then I began to feel the wear and tear of late nights and early mornings going to work. I decided to shift my focus to more detailed events, like weddings, quinceañeras, sweet 16s. Those require more planning, details and more focus to what I’m doing.
The most exciting part of what I do, is marking people dance, have a good time, and leave at the end of the night saying how well of a job the dj did.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
A great skill of mine was that I always loved all music, so when it came down to different types of music needed for different events, cultures, and so forth I was ready. Never stop learning what’s new in your craft. This is what keeps you above if not equally to the rest who are doing the same as you.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
I owe a lot to my parents and sister. They gave me all their unconditional love and support from my early start as a dj till even now. My family has been my biggest support system. So their support has being the most impactful thing in my career and journey
