Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tonya Le. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Tonya, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
Hmmmmm….. I don’t know if the phrase “work ethic” fits with me. I would like to call myself “passion driven” if I may. And that pretty much goes for all departments in my life to be fair. Passionate about hair, makeup, fashion, music, the earth and everything on it. Oh and the food…crazy about food…ahah.
So where do I get this “passion” of mine from? I would say from both my parents. Blame them first than my aunts and uncles, grandparents, great grandparents and so forth.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I’m an L.A native and have been in the salon business serving hair for over 15 years. The past 5+ years, after adding makeup to my belt, my artistry was able to get my foot in the entertainment world. That was the beginning of a new career and I have been operating in both worlds ever since.
With the heartbreaking wild fires that has been going on, Our team at Pop Hair. Co, an eco friendly hair product line I started but haven’t yet launched, donated 50+ bottles of our handmade “Le Fresh” hair refresher to help protect displaced victims hair during this stressful time by keeping their hair feeling and looking as fresh as possible.
We love you L.A❣️
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back I would have too say not giving up, being kind and surrounding myself with “safe” people was important to me. Why you ask? Well the not giving up speaks for itself.
Being kind comes easy for most but still being kind when your life experience rough waters is when the discipline really counts. Keeping that positive energy for your clients/talents/teammates to work with is important. Leaving all personal feelings at the door.
And to have trusted friends or a support team with good intentions is a blessing. But being your own best friend is important. You must be comfortable with attending social/professional events alone.
If you know…you know.

Looking back over the past 12 months or so, what do you think has been your biggest area of improvement or growth?
Letting go the idea that things will go as plan, letting go the wish and the want.
Now embracing the excitement of what is truly meant for me will find its dandy way to me.
