We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Torshia Brielle a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Torshia, thank you so much for joining us and offering your lessons and wisdom for our readers. One of the things we most admire about you is your generosity and so we’d love if you could talk to us about where you think your generosity comes from.
My generosity honestly comes from my heart. I am naturally a giving person I grew up with a younger sibling so caring or giving to someone else other than myself is engrained in me. I also lean into it now more than ever because we live in a time where most people are not generous. The will not help or teach or give to anyone else if they are not being compensated. I am a person who really loves people for free. Being generous is one of the highest expressions of love to me. And I give love because I am love. And how will the next generation learn and grow to their full potential without the generosity of those who come before. There is a difference in someone being generous because they are being paid or obligated to do for you as opposed to someone who sees you and sees a need and offers to help. We all need help at some point.
I have a Pastor by the name of Jason Scales who taught me a principle, he says, ” I have because I give.” And to this day moving out of genuine generosity I’ve never gone without anything that I’ve wanted or needed. It’s a blessing to be a blessing.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The qualities that were most impactful for me resilience, being teachable, and remembering my why?
To follow a destiny path as an Entertainer is one that can be quite tumultuous for most. Youre shooting for a target that only you can see and some days it may not always be that clear for you. resiliency helped me because in pursuit of your dreams youre going to hear no way more than you hear yes and you have too learn to get back up if you fall. im always reminded that most successful people fail there way to the top. its apart of the journey.
Being teachable has gotten me into tons of places I never imagined because yes there is always someone better but I’m always willing to listen and be coached to do things another way if needed. Being teachable is a character trait and there are many talented people who lack character.
And finally remembering my why because honestly I dont always feel like it or somedays anxiety is getting the best of me and I have to walk myself down from it and remember why I started this. Chasing your dreams doesnt always feel good and if you dont know why youre doing a thing youre more likely to quit because it feels pointless. Having a why is the mustard seed sized faith somedays that heps you walk through the rain to sunshine.
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I am looking to collaborate in a couple of areas at the moment. First on the music side I am looking for producers who understand 70s soul/funk music and Do-wop. Those who still love live instruments on records. and Im also, dipping my toes into the world of script-writing currently working on a pretty dope idea snd id love to collaborate with other writers. I am actually in search of a director at the moment. And they connect with me via my email [email protected].
