Meet Tory Saks

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Tory Saks a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Tory, thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.
I like to think of myself as a beacon of light – bringing light to someone’s day – whether that be from smiling at someone, opening the door for them, or when someone comes in for a session with me.

I believe that even if something doesn’t feel good that we are learning from that experience to help us grow. For as long as I can remember I’ve always tried to “lift” my family and friends up when talking to them and spending time with them.

For me my optimism comes from deep inside, internally. Someone once told me that the 5 people we spend the most time with are the ones that influence us the most. That is also something that is important to make sure that we surround ourselves with positive people, individuals who help lift us up. That is something that I try to emulate one a daily basis – bringing positivity, kindness, and optimism to my encounters and interactions.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
Previous to being an Intuitive Crystal Healer and Reiki Practitioner based, I worked in marketing for 10 years before quitting my job to have my own “Eat/Pray/Love” moment and moved to Spain to learn Spanish. Upon moving back to Dallas, I also came back with a pallet of olive oil which I import from Extremadura, Spain called Aqua et Oleum – meaning Water and Oil in Latin.

Giving you a little bit of background about my journey, in 2016 I had decided to go holistic as I was struggling with allergies and was not ready to start taking allergy shots at 28 years old. I thought – there has to be another way and there was – I discovered Ayurveda, originating from India. I love the holistic approach to living that Ayurveda has. With my Ayurvedic practitioner I was on a yoga retreat in Tulum in 2017 and there I was lucky enough to have my first Reiki treatment. Ever since that first Reiki Treatment, I’ve received Reiki every month. I even received Reiki while living in Spain during quarantine!

Reiki literally means Universal Life Force Energy originating from Japan, then coming to Hawaii, and then finally the mainland United States. It is considered a bio-field therapy, a form of energy therapy, it utilizes placing the hands, or hovering the hands on the body to facilitate healing like other ancient practices that have been used for thousands of years. Reiki works beautifully with Western medicine and medical treatments, it’s safe and has no bad side effects!

We all have Reiki within us, however, I have been attuned to be a conduit of this Reiki energy to help facilitate healing whether that be on a physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual level. Think of me like your own personal pool cleaner – I clear away all of the debris that is no longer serving you and help you to release emotions and situations that are not in alignment with you.

There are so many benefits to receiving a Reiki treatment. Within myself I have noticed decreased stress, anxiety, and depression and increased energy levels. Reiki works on all levels of the body. My tagline is “Clear your path to new beginnings!” and this is my intention when working with my clients either in person or virtually. Whether that be to help clear away a feeling of stagnation or being “stuck” so that you can feel like you can move forward in you life or helping you find the beauty within yourself, maybe removing an emotion that is held in the body, or a trauma from a situation that is holding you back from being optimal.

Every person is unique just like every treatment is unique as we are constantly changing. My hope is that I can help you by removing what is standing in your way so that you can live a higher vibrational life! Clients have reported having improved sleep, decreased pain, increased mental clarity and focus, increased energy, increased healing – especially after a surgery.

During a Reiki treatment I may be called upon to use essential oils, flower essences, or crystals. I didn’t realize before going through Crystal Healing training that I was already gridding people intuitively with crystals. Although there might be Reiki present in a Crystal Healing, these are two different treatments that I offer.

In a Crystal Healing I invoke the crystalline energy from the crystals to help facilitate healing and change in the bodies. Crystals are very powerful, and they vibrate at a much higher frequency then we do as they come from the Earth. During a Crystal Healing, similar to a Reiki I am calling upon the wisdom of the ancient art of placing stones/crystals directly on the body to help facilitate transformation within my clients.

To be clear, these changes and transformations can only occur if the client or recipient is ready and open to receive. I have facilitated in person and virtual Crystal Healings, and I have seen some very powerful changes within those recipients. Clients have noted that they are able to better receive joy and love in their life, they have improved sleep and peace, and have released pain in the body.

Depending on the Crystal Healing treatment and your intention for your session you are able to do a past life or future life regression, inner child work, uncover the origin of a family or personal pattern or belief, the root cause for dis-ease in the body, or simply to find greater peace, and so much more!

I end all sessions with card pulls as I think it’s always a fun way to put an added exclamation point (!) at the end of your session and healing. I look forward to facilitating your very own unique session in person or virtually! I invite you to stop by my website to learn more and of course you can reach out to me directly with any questions too!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I am a very intuitive person – for me I have to follow my gut (for some that could be their heart) in everything that I do. This has also been some learning lessons that I have had to encounter when I don’t follow this advice. When I get that feeling – I have to follow where it is leading me. If not, I usually learn something because I didn’t follow my own intuition and advice. As we are all different and unique, we react to things differently then others would. At times it is good to get other people’s advice, perspective, and take on things, however if you know you “need” to do something or talk to someone or clear the air – whatever it may be – this is your message to listen to that feeling and sensation. Once you start fine tuning that and listening to that feeling, I have found that life has been easier for me and flows more gently. This also encompasses to listen to your body. Our bodies talk to use constantly we have to be willing to listen to what it wants to tell us.

Treat people with respect because you don’t know how they may impact your life or what lesson they may be here to teach you – even if it is only for a short while. We came here to learn and grow, expand ourselves. Each person we encounter is another person who will teach us something whether that be a small child, a mentor, or someone you encounter at the grocery store. If we can see everyone as our teachers and everyday of our life another day in the classroom, then we are sure to learn and grow. Each lesson and opportunity building upon the next. I was raised that you treat everyone with respect, we all deserve that, and it also fosters an environment of education, growth, and kindness. So even if you just meet someone in a coffee shop in front of you, you never know how that encounter may impact other areas of your life. Keep your eyes and hearts open to see the possibilities all around you.

Say “thank you”. I work with the Law of Attraction a lot in my life and business. We can never be thankful or say thank you enough. I am constantly building on my gratitude practice – it costs nothing and we are able to get so much in return. Every day I like to write 10 things I’m grateful for – whether that be my family, the sunshine, a new day, etc. These are all ways to help bring a little grace, positivity, and appreciation for where we are in all areas of our lives. We have so much to be grateful for and appreciate!

What has been your biggest area of growth or improvement in the past 12 months?
My confidence! That is the theme for me this year and on my vision board. Last year I got diagnosed with leaky gut – the girl known for being healthy, holistic, etc. and to be honest I just wasn’t. I had low energy and I wasn’t happy with my appearance.

I am the face of both of my businesses and to be honest I just wanted to go around with a paper bag over my face because I wasn’t comfortable in my own skin and my body was also telling me that it needed help.

After detoxing and healing my gut, healing myself from the inside out I was able to see these amazing changes in my skin and complexion. This also helped me start building my confidence back up so that I could put myself out there, market myself and my business, network and make connections.

I am able to connect with others, share my story, my passions, and educate others on reiki and crystals – my businesses without worrying that people would be more focused on my face – specifically the detoxing process that was going on versus the message and mission I am here to share with others – to help others.

The biggest area for growth for me has been to be a little uncomfortable – meaning putting myself out there, sharing the benefits of how reiki and crystal healings can help people both physically, emotionally, and mentally after wanting to hide out for so long.

I’m excited to see who I will connect with next and help share my journey, path, and story so hopefully people that I have gone through some of the same things I have can have hope.
