Meet Toy Laster

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Toy Laster a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Toy, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.

My confidence and self-esteem were cultivated through years of hard work, resilience, and consistent action. Rebranding myself and building a party business, DFW Pole Dance Parties, from the ground up, earning the title of Best Bachelorette Spot in Dallas and receiving nearly 300 glowing reviews, didn’t happen overnight. My dedication to creating an empowering and memorable experience for brides, birthdays, and special occasions has been the foundation of my success.

I wholeheartedly believe in following through on commitments, which is reflected in how I operate my business with integrity and passion. Every time I face a challenge, whether it’s expanding my business offerings, addressing client concerns, or finding creative solutions, I show up with a solution-oriented mindset. That consistent approach builds confidence over time because I know I can handle whatever comes my way.

Additionally, my personal growth as a business owner and my willingness to reflect on both strengths and areas for improvement have allowed me to set boundaries and prioritize what matters most. I am always striving to grow and learn, not just for myself, but for my family, my team, and to offer a service that allows women to step out of their comfort zones and celebrate themselves in a fun way with close friends and family.

In moments of doubt or burnout, I lean into my faith and values to keep going. I understand that self-esteem isn’t just about accomplishments; it’s also about honoring yourself, your dreams, and the impact you want to make.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

My name is Toy, and I am the founder of DFW Pole Dance Parties, a business that has been empowering women for over 15 years. Our company has earned the title of Best Bachelorette Spot in Dallas and has received nearly 300 glowing reviews. We specialize in creating unforgettable celebrations for women, whether it’s bachelorette parties, birthdays, or special occasions. What makes our experience unique is that it’s often a first-time experience for most of the women who walk through our doors.

Pole dancing can be a vulnerable space, but it’s also transformative. I remind women to let go, not be judgmental, and have fun. The magic happens when they embrace the moment, step out of their comfort zones, and realize their inner strength. Many women express how comfortable, confident, and empowered they felt by the end of their session. That’s the ultimate reward for me, knowing that we’ve helped create not just a party, but a moment of self-discovery and joy.

My entrepreneurial journey has been fueled by resilience, passion, and faith. Rebranding and growing my business from the ground up has taught me invaluable lessons about adaptability and perseverance. Beyond the business, I’m a wife and a mother, which inspires me to maintain balance while building something meaningful.

Looking to the future, I’m focused on expanding our offerings and partnering with other studios to bring this unique experience to more women in more cities. I want to continue creating spaces where women can celebrate themselves, connect with their friends, and walk away with a renewed sense of confidence. For me, it’s not just about the business; it’s about empowering women to celebrate their uniqueness, embrace their confidence, and have fun in the process.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, the three most impactful qualities in my journey have been resilience, adaptability, and staying true to my purpose of creating unforgettable experiences.

1. Resilience: Building a business like DFW Pole Dance Parties wasn’t easy, but resilience has been the foundation that kept me moving forward. There were moments of doubt, challenges with rebranding, and times when balancing my roles as an entrepreneur, wife, and mother seemed overwhelming. However, each obstacle became an opportunity to grow stronger. My advice is to embrace the setbacks, as they often lead to breakthroughs. Remember, the journey is just as important as the destination.

2. Adaptability: We’re living in an age where social media and marketing are intertwined with daily life. Not being afraid to adapt has been a game-changer. I’ve learned that evolving with trends, embracing new tools, and staying open to change is essential for growth. Whether it’s connecting with new audiences or adjusting my offerings to meet the needs of clients, adaptability has allowed my business to flourish. My advice is to lean into innovation without losing sight of your vision. The world is always changing, and the businesses that thrive are the ones willing to pivot when needed.

3. Creating Unforgettable Experiences: From the very beginning, my mission has been to create an experience like no other. A bachelorette weekend is an event you remember forever, and I wanted to ensure it’s more than just a celebration. It’s a memory that lasts a lifetime. Celebrating milestones like birthdays and special occasions with friends and family is about more than the moment itself. It’s about the connection, laughter, and joy you take with you. The magic of DFW Pole Dance Parties is in providing a safe space for women to feel empowered, confident, and celebrated.

My advice to those starting out is to stay focused on the experiences you want your clients to remember. Never lose sight of the impact you want to make. Resilience will keep you moving forward, adaptability will keep you evolving, and staying true to your mission will ensure the experiences you create are truly unforgettable. Success is about honoring your purpose and building something that resonates far beyond the moment.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

I am absolutely looking to partner with other pole dance studios across the United States. My goal is to share my services, expertise, and proven strategies to help other studios enhance their offerings and generate additional income. Over the past 15 years, DFW Pole Dance Parties has built a reputation for providing unique, empowering, and unforgettable experiences for women celebrating bachelorette parties, birthdays, and other special occasions.

What sets DFW apart is our ability to create a fun, inclusive, and confidence-boosting environment where clients feel celebrated and leave with lasting memories. I’d love to work with studios that are passionate about creating transformative experiences for their clients and are eager to take their businesses to the next level. Together, we can build a network of studios that not only celebrate women but also elevate the pole dance industry as a whole.

If you’re a studio owner or part of a team that’s interested in collaborating, please connect with me.
