We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Traci Moore a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Traci, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
My confidence and self-esteem were nurtured early on by my family. They supported my creativity, encouraged my talents, and affirmed my voice. The way they carried themselves with pride, boldness, and presence left a deep impression on me. I don’t know if I ever learned another way to be. That foundation gave me the freedom to show up unapologetically in everything I do. Whether I’m curating experiences for the Southern Pleasure Expo or connecting with people in my other businesses or community, I move with the understanding that I belong in every room I step into.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
The Southern Pleasure Expo is more than an event; it’s a necessary shift in how we approach education, connection, and wellness within the adult industry. Born out of smaller, intimate gatherings and years of listening closely to what both consumers and professionals were missing, we created a space that intentionally bridges the gap between product knowledge and real relationship-building from business to consumer, brand to creator, and peer to peer.
It’s a fully immersive, weekend experience that centers, retail innovation, adult wellness and authentic education. From hands-on classes and panel discussions to direct access to top-tier content creators and cutting-edge brands, Southern Pleasure is designed to empower through information and access. And while we love to indulge in our unforgettable open dungeon and curated social spaces like our VIP Lounge, we’re most proud of the learning and healing that happens here, especially on Sunday, when we shift the focus toward sexual health, mental wellness, and community care.
If you’re in the industry or curious about it, you won’t want to miss what Southern Pleasure is building. It’s where the adult industry gets smarter, more intentional, and more connected.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Three qualities that have been most impactful in my journey are consistency, relationship-building, and truly understanding your audience.
Consistency has been my quiet superpower. It’s not always about big wins, it’s about showing up, even when things don’t go as planned. Staying committed to the vision, day after day, builds trust and momentum. For anyone just getting started, I’d say don’t aim for perfection just aim to show up. The magic is in the follow-through.
Relationship-building has been just as important as any business strategy. This industry and most industries, really are built on connection. Whether it’s manufacturers, exhibitors, creators, or customers, I take the time to nurture relationships with genuine interest and care. If you’re early in your journey, start by being present. Listen more than you speak, follow up when you say you will, and never underestimate the power of collaboration.
Lastly, knowing your audience is everything. It’s not enough to have a good product or service, you have to understand who you’re serving and what they need. That insight drives everything from branding to programming. I always ask: what problem am I solving for them? If you’re just starting out, spend real time learning your audience. Ask questions, gather feedback, and stay flexible enough to evolve with them.
Consistency, connection, and clarity have kept me grounded and growing. And they’ll serve anyone well, no matter the path.

Looking back over the past 12 months or so, what do you think has been your biggest area of improvement or growth?
Over the past year, my biggest area of growth has been learning the true value of building a strong, committed team. I used to lean on familiarity by working with people I was comfortable with or who simply wanted to be around for the perks. But I’ve come to realize that proximity doesn’t equal productivity, and loyalty doesn’t always translate to execution.
What I’ve learned is that the real magic happens when you surround yourself with people who are aligned with the mission, who take initiative, and who don’t need to be micromanaged. A strong team is made up of doers, people who follow through, who bring solutions, and who understand that excellence is a standard, not a request.
This shift has not only improved how I lead, but it’s elevated the quality of every project I touch. Now, I prioritize collaboration with those who show up with purpose, not just presence and that mindset has completely transformed the way I move both personally and professionally.
