We recently connected with Tracy Bowles and have shared our conversation below.
Tracy, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
I developed confidence by showing up even when I did not think I belonged or deserved to be in that space. I set realistic goals for myself, and if I needed clarification on something, I asked questions. I also developed self-esteem by making a commitment to myself to focus on my strengths and work hard for what I want and deserve.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’m the proud owner of Flawless Weddings and Events, LLC, and I have over 20 years of experience planning, coordinating, and designing flawless events. I am passionate about weddings and love being creative when designing for my clients. I won two years in a role (2022 + 2023) California Wedding Day Best of Wedding Planner in Orange County, CA, and am a finalist for the same award in 2024. I sit on the Board as President of the Wedding Industry Professional Association, known as WIPA SoCal. My work has been featured and published in several wedding blogs and magazines.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back early on in my business development stage, I had several mentors I could trust, who pushed me and who believed in me. They taught me life lessons, which I was able to implement into my business structure. This empowered me to change my thought process. “Giving up is not an Option!”
The three qualities, skills, of knowledge that were most impactful in my journey are;
1. Follow your Passion
2. Never give up
3. Give it all you got
I advise anyone wanting to pursue their business to stay true to themselves, follow their passion, never give up, and give it all they got!
Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?
There are a lot of self-help books that played an important role in my development, but what comes to mind is one. The book is titled Do it Afraid {Embracing Courage in the Face of Fear} by Joyce Meyer.
The impactful nuggets of wisdom were, first, Understand your fears; second, Confront your fears; and third, Change your mindset.
