We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Tracy Canzano. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Tracy below.
Tracy , so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
I think my purpose found me overtime , I always loved being a stylist and working in the salon, but it wasn’t until I started doing bridal that I felt a deeper connection, it just felt different .
Being invited into such an emotional day , helping someone feel their most beautiful version of themselves, bringing a calming confidence to a sometimes very nervous morning , it just kind of clicked for me . I remember thinking -this right here is what I am meant to do .,

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’ve been married to the love of my life for 21 amazing years ,I am a mother of 4 amazing kids …3 boys and 1 girl and wow- am I proud of every one of them ! I have a beautiful daughter in law and am a soon to be grandma ! I have been blessed beyond words with the most beautiful family .
I’ve been a licensed stylist for 31yrs. I retired from behind the chair and started my bridal business 8 years ago and I haven’t looked back .
These have been the most rewarding years of my career, and I truly love what I do. The feeling of when a bride looks at herself in the mirror and lights up , knowing that I did that for her on such an important day in her life , that will never get old !

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
1. patience . that’s a big one . I feel like its a lost art and it is super important to have patience when working with sometimes very nervous and emotional brides that are very overwhelmed and over stimulated the morning of their wedding .
2.reliable . you can’t go into this business being unreliable , this is someones wedding day and they are counting on you being there , in 8 years I have missed 1 scheduled wedding due to illness and even though I replaced myself with another incredibly talented stylist, I still beat myself up over it !
3.open minded . everyone has their own vision of beauty and I love that. Art-especially bridal styling is so subjective, so I never take it personally . my goal is to understand what someone envisions and bring that to life.
always be the calm brought into the morning and remember she had choices and you were hers ,don’t let her down . its about alot more than just the style .
always put your brides first .pride yourself on your reliability.
be willing to take criticism and be open to hearing what your bride is saying . don’t take it personal if she sees that Inspo style on herself and doesn’t like it – be ok with making the changes that will make the style hers.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I am always open to connecting with other creatives , especially those who love soft ,romantic and timeless style . wether its a styled shoot , an education opportunity , or a creative project , I’m all for it ! The best way to connect is through instagram at @laniemaxhair
