Hi Tracy , thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?

I get my work ethic from my parents. Growing up, I watched them work hard, stay committed, and show up—even on the days when it would’ve been easier not to. They taught me that responsibility isn’t something you talk about, it’s something you live. They led by example, not speeches, and I absorbed every bit of it.

From them I learned that when you care about something, you give it your best. That you can chase your dreams, but you also keep your feet grounded in gratitude and integrity. Their mix of determination, love, and quiet resilience shaped who I am—and it’s what I bring into Pitter Patter Jewelry every day.

When I’m building this business, I’m really carrying forward the values they instilled in me. It’s my way of honoring the foundation they gave me.

Pitter Patter Jewelry is my heart in handmade form. I create personalized, meaningful pieces that celebrate the people, moments, and stories that matter most. Every necklace, bracelet, or charm isn’t just jewelry—it’s a tiny keepsake of someone’s love, loss, strength, or joy. What makes it special to me is knowing that what I create becomes part of someone’s life: a reminder they carry close, a gift that speaks louder than words, or a way to honor someone they never want to forget.

The most exciting part of what I do is the connection. Customers share their stories with me—some beautiful, some heartbreaking—and I get the privilege of creating something that holds that emotion safely. It never feels like “just a business.” It feels like community, trust, and storytelling through metal and design.

As for what’s new, I’m expanding Pitter Patter Jewelry with fresh collections that spotlight motherhood, family bonds, and sentimental milestones. I’m also working on a few upcoming launches that bring even more customization options, plus some seasonal pieces that I’m so excited to share. Everything I make is handcrafted with care, intention, and a whole lot of heart.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back, the three qualities that made the biggest impact on my journey with Pitter Patter Jewelry were resilience, creativity, and connection.

Resilience was the backbone. Building a business—especially a handmade one—comes with long nights, mistakes, setbacks, and moments of doubt. What kept me going was learning to stand back up every time something didn’t go as planned. My advice: don’t expect the path to be straight. Let the bumps teach you instead of stop you. Celebrate the small wins, and keep showing up even on the days you don’t feel like you have it all together.

Creativity kept me inspired. Not just in designing jewelry, but in problem-solving, adapting, and finding new ways to serve my customers. Creativity isn’t some magical spark—it’s a muscle you strengthen by experimenting, making imperfect things, and staying curious. For anyone starting out: give yourself permission to play. Try new ideas without judging them. That’s where the best work comes from.

Connection is what made my business meaningful. Listening to people’s stories, understanding why a piece matters, and building trust—it turned customers into community. If you’re early in your journey, prioritize relationships over metrics. Show up authentically. Be human. People don’t just support your product; they support you.

If you can nurture resilience, creativity, and connection, you’ll not only grow your business—you’ll grow into the kind of creator and entrepreneur you’re proud to be.

How would you describe your ideal client?

My ideal client is someone who values meaning over perfection. Someone who believes jewelry can hold a story, a memory, or a feeling, not just be something pretty to wear. They’re sentimental at heart, and they appreciate the intention, time, and care that goes into something handcrafted.

They’re the type of person who loves giving thoughtful gifts, who pays attention to the little details, and who wants to honor the people they love in a personal way. Many of my clients are mothers, partners, or friends looking for a way to celebrate a milestone or keep someone close. Others are navigating grief or honoring an angel baby, and they trust me with some of the most tender moments of their lives.

What makes someone an ideal client isn’t just what they buy, it’s their openness. The willingness to share their story, their trust in my creative process, and their appreciation for pieces made with heart.

Those are the people I serve best, and they’re the ones who make Pitter Patter Jewelry feel like more than a business, they make it a meaningful connection.
