Meet Trap DeVille

We recently connected with Trap DeVille and have shared our conversation below.

Trap, sincerely appreciate your selflessness in agreeing to discuss your mental health journey and how you overcame and persisted despite the challenges. Please share with our readers how you overcame. For readers, please note this is not medical advice, we are not doctors, you should always consult professionals for advice and that this is merely one person sharing their story and experience.
I was born within a storm of mental illness & substance abuse raging through a negatively inspired environment drowning in poverty. I had multiple suicides & murders in my immediate family. Much of my family history is a mystery to this day. As a child I was programmed with suicidal ideation that stalked me for decades until I faced it head on in pursuit of my purpose in this world and I knew I had a big one because I tried to kill myself repeatedly as I spiraled deeper and deeper into drug addiction. I actually was first introduced to heroin & cocaine when I was 13 and subsequently hitchhiked to Los Angeles from my home town of Baltimore that year when I realized the only future for me there was to die a drug addict. I guess I had a calling, a dream burning deep within but it always felt like it came from beyond. I always felt protected by angels especially in my worst moments. Despite my horrible decisions I defied death. I prayed for it to take me on many occasions but God had other plans for me. The universe was making an example out of me, it chose me to not only survive but to go down this path of self discovery, to heal my wounds, to tap into the God consciousness that lives inside of all of us to be of service to this world and share what I’ve learned with others. I live every day now in absolute gratitude, love & faith in the divine omnipresent guidance system we have been blessed with. Once I truly accepted the immortal nature of my spirit I realized nothing in this world was worth stealing my peace.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I have most of my life pursuing a career in music & film making. As I look back on my creations I am truly proud of what I have accomplished and excited for what the next chapter will bring. I started writing & recording songs semi professionally when I was 16 which turned into a catalog of hundreds of recordings over the years but I didn’t get my first real break in the music industry until 2017 when I got signed by Struggle Jennings & Jellyroll releasing an album entitled “Angels & Outlaws” which has accumulated several million views & streams on it’s songs & videos. I had worked behind the scenes on major feature films as a special fx technician & stunt performer for over a decade but my dream had always been to make hit records. I got to accomplish some pretty significant mile stones in my career with my music family in Nashville but I was being called in a new direction. I was blessed with a grand vision. I became bored with typical music videos and set off on a quest to become a great film maker in my own right. I started making short films that accompanied my albums and it’s become quite an obsession. I just completed my third one entitled “The Ritual” that will be available to watch as of September 1st 2023 on my website trapdeville.com. Prior to that I directed & produced a visual album entitled “Sacred Tragedy” that is available on Amazon Prime.
Every-time I make a film I learn more and become inspired to do it again even better than before. I have huge plans for my next project & I am just thrilled to live the life of mu dreams. I cant wait to see what happens next!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
For me my obsession with self destruction became my super power. It forced me to find my calling. I have become so obsessed with the law of attraction and all great laws of the universe I just live in absolute wonder and amazement that our mind is a infinitely quantum powered super computing holographic projector and that we literally experience what we focus our attention on. Simple as that. My advice would be for anyone to learn these principles, study them constantly and expect miracles in your life. Stop eating sugar, stop drinking chemically treated water, stop eating genetically modified food, stop the drugs & alcohol and learn how to clear the mind naturally through breathe work & meditation.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
I still have challenging days like anyone, I still get triggered but it gets easier and easier to take control of the mind & emotions the more I focus on bettering myself. I notice now when something happens to lower my vibration and I am able to pretty quickly let go of what’s bothering me or find a solution. I use everything I have learned to raise my vibration in all circumstances. I just expect things to work out in my favor and I know it at the deepest level. I am no longer concerned with outcomes, my main focus is to enjoy the journey.
