Meet Tre Abeita

We recently connected with Tre Abeita and have shared our conversation below.

Tre, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?

It started as a child for me, my father always made me speak up, shake hands, introduce myself and learning those simple social habits as a kid separates you from people who weren’t taught proper social skills. It helped me gain respect and stand out.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I’m a licensed professional barber based in Texas and the proud owner of two local barbershops: The Shop ATX and The Shop by Tre. Over the years, I’ve become known for delivering top-tier barbering services and building a loyal A-list clientele through major Austin events such as SXSW, ACL Festival, and the X Games.

The Shop ATX, located in the heart of East Austin, is experiencing rapid growth and was recently honored with a nomination for Austin’s Best Barbershop of 2025 by the prestigious Austin Chronicle. We’re incredibly thankful for this recognition and excited to continue welcoming more of the community through our doors.

In addition to barbering, we’ve built a reputation as Austin’s only barbershop hosting live comedy events, in partnership with Comedy Underdogs—featuring elite comedic talent from both local and national stages.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

The three qualities that have been most beneficial to me are my willingness to learn, consistency, and adaptability. In a creative industry, it’s essential to always remain a student—especially in a space that’s constantly evolving. Consistency is key when it comes to mastering your craft, while adaptability allows you to stay relevant in a world where trends can quickly reshape entire communities. These three qualities can be especially impactful for young creatives and entrepreneurs navigating their own paths.
