Meet Treash Chitsike Katondo

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Treash Chitsike Katondo a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Treash with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?

Background!
I saw my mother work , and I mean work very hard she always used to emphasize on the importance of working hard.
We saw her knock on doors that changed our lives , and I promised to go beyond what she has done for my own children .

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

It’s such an honor to be given an opportunity to speak about my brand and what we do .
I own a day Spa in Sachse Texas , we started with an all natural skincare line before we built our spa which is also the beginning of a chain of day & resort spas .

We boast in the use of an amazing tea for most of our spa treatments, the amazing Rooibos tea of my beloved Africa .
We also use amazing techniques in our massages including the African calabash tool for a more deeper massage.
Our spa ritual begins with a shot of the rooibos tea and also ending with another shot to enable the process of detoxification from the inside out.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Knowledge of the trade ,Patience & Prayer

Knowing and Understanding your field of work gives you resilience in the trade when things don’t work out , it allows you to keep digging for a better way to penetrate the market.
Patience because Rome is not built in a day , it will take so much patience to create a timeless brand .
And then prayer keeps you going on the days when your business tests you , because it will and it’s part of the process.
Prayer will give you the grace to soldier on.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?

I’m so blessed with a supportive family, My husband Lorence has been emotionally and financially supportive he has put in long hours of work to fund the business, my siblings and parents have not only prayed for me but helped financially as-well. A big shoutout to Snatra & Terence , you guys have been a pillar of strength from the beginning. We also have some friends and family that have come to support us at the spa.
Lastly a sister and friend that I lost a few months ago Viola Mitchell .MHDSRIP
