Meet Tremayne Copeland

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Tremayne Copeland a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Tremayne, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?

I’d say I get my work ethic from a mix of my upbringing and a deep fear of missing deadlines—sprinkled with just enough tea to power a small spaceship. Growing up, I was taught that if you’re going to do something, you might as well do it right the first time. That stuck with me, and now I take a lot of pride in delivering quality work, staying accountable, and staying a step ahead—while laughing through the chaos when needed!

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

Sure thing! So, my story? Imagine a curious kid with a camera in one hand, a laptop in the other, and just enough chaos to keep life interesting—that’s me, just grown up (kind of). I wear a few hats—photographer, tech-savvy problem solver, community advocate—and somehow they all fit… most days.

Professionally, I run TeaCopeulous Photography, where I get to freeze moments in time for people—whether it’s portraits, events, or candid magic. What makes it special to me is that it’s not just about taking a good photo—it’s about capturing personality, energy, and stories people can look back on and smile (or cry happy tears, no judgment).

Outside the lens, I work in tech and advocacy, and I’ve been focused on blending creativity with purpose—helping others feel seen, supported, and sometimes even inspired to chase their own passions. Whether I’m building something digital or helping someone shine in front of the camera, my goal is to leave things better than I found them.

As for what’s new? I’ve got a few exciting projects brewing—new portrait packages, community-focused photo events, and a possible collaboration with a local nonprofit to help empower youth through visual storytelling. Stay tuned!

And if nothing else, just know this: I’m fueled by passion, purpose, and occasionally way too much coffee.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, I’d say the three biggest game-changers in my journey were: resilience, resourcefulness, and the magical art of not panicking when everything goes sideways—which, let’s be honest, happens more than people admit.

Resilience – Life (and work) will throw curveballs, plot twists, and the occasional full-blown circus. Learning to bounce back—whether from a missed opportunity, a “creative disagreement,” or a computer crash five minutes before a deadline—has helped me keep going without losing my mind… completely.

Resourcefulness – Sometimes you have a big budget and a team. Other times it’s you, Google, and a prayer. Being able to figure things out with what you’ve got is an underrated superpower. It’s helped me turn ideas into action, even when conditions weren’t perfect.

Connection – Okay, this one’s less skill and more humanity. But learning to genuinely connect with people—clients, collaborators, mentors—has opened more doors than any textbook ever could. Being kind, curious, and real goes a long way.

Advice? Start where you are. Don’t wait for perfect conditions or the “right” time. Be curious, ask questions, watch YouTube tutorials at 2 a.m. if you have to. And most importantly, give yourself permission to mess up. Growth isn’t always pretty, but it’s always worth it.

Also—snacks help. Never underestimate the power of a good snack during a long workday.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

Yes! I’m always open to collaborating—especially with folks who bring good energy, fresh ideas, and a passion for creating something meaningful. Whether you’re a fellow creative, nonprofit leader, tech enthusiast, or someone with a vision and a good heart, I’m all ears.

I’m particularly interested in partnering on projects that uplift communities, tell untold stories, or blend creativity with purpose—whether through photography, tech solutions, or community outreach (bonus points if there’s Macha tea involved).

If you’re reading this and thinking, “Hmm, we might vibe,” feel free to reach out! You can connect with me on Instagram @teacopeulous photography, shoot me an email at bluetea77@gmail.com, serious inquiries only, or just send a carrier pigeon—I’ll probably take a picture of it.

Let’s build something awesome together.
