Meet Treniece Green

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Treniece Green. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Treniece, thank you so much for making time for us today. We can’t wait to dive into your story and the lessons you’ve learned along the way, but maybe we can start with something foundational to your success. How have you gone about developing your ability to communicate effectively?
I had to first realize I was communicating in effectively, I believed everyone had the sixth sense of reading body language and social cues. I am a person that will cry with extreme emotion whether it be frustration, stress, sadness and sometimes happiness but there’s times where I couldn’t source the reasoning behind my emotions making it difficult to connect in my relationships.

Thus, making me internalize my issues and making it hard to connect to those who loved me because my inner monologue made me believe, “because they aren’t checking on me” they don’t care. Growth and a lot of prayer made me realize that no one can come to your rescue if you never sent the SOS.

Communication is something I feel will continuously evolve as we grow as people, and with each new encounter we experience. My communication has improved significantly but I don’t believe it is something that I will truly ever feel I have fully arrived to.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I am a creative through and through, I started my business Covered by T in 2018 after graduating college, it started as a hobby but morphed into a brand that creates handmade luxury handbags accessories, as well as home decor.

I wanted to provide options of those like me who find shopping for clothes difficult and overwhelming at times, but loves a good handbag or accessory to really bring the outfit together.

You can shop Covered by T, 7 days a week at the Maker and Merchant in Citrus Park Town Center Mall in Tampa, Florida, I’m hoping to expand to other stores and get back in vendor shows this fall.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The three qualities that were most impactful in my journey are consistency, organization and a strong sense of self. Consistently show up for yourself first, and your passions and business will follow.

Organization looks different for everyone, but personally I always carry a journal around with me so that I can organize my thoughts and make check lists for myself, so even on the days where I don’t feel like being as productive something is getting done.

Lastly, a sense of self, getting lost in the day to day and the roles you play in others lives can be exhausting and its easy to get lost in. Finding what your passionate about and setting aside time to reflect, pray, meditate on yourself is so crucial for longevity in whatever path you are taking.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I am always open to collaborate with other creatives, I want to get my business out to other areas and meet some amazing people that can enlighten me with whatever knowledge they have learned along the way.

The people I am looking to collaborate with are professionals in fashion, boutiques, and those that have done handcrafted products and how they have been successful. Creative minds where we can all come together and exchange ideas in a positive space and really want to see each other grow and prosper with no negativity or envy.
