We recently connected with Trent Allen Davis and have shared our conversation below.
Trent Allen , we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
Understanding that confidence truly comes from within. No compliment from someone, amount of money, car or any material possessions can build confidence. That has to come from the light that is burning inside of you. Once I learned that, I was able to take the proper steps in becoming truly confident in myself, I may not always have the previously mentioned aspects that can be fleeting. I will always have and be me.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I am an actor. I had been called to acting for years, but it was within the last 5 years in which that call has been louder and I was able to get over the fears of starting and really go for it. The most exciting and special part of it has been the process of growing as a person. There have been challenges in which I had to grow through that I did not even know I was capable of before starting.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Confidence, being mentally strong and healthy, consistency. Acting is a very vulnerable art as acting requires vulnerability in front of anyone willing to watch, as the camera picks up everything. Lack of confidence will translate to the screen. I personally believe it is tough to be creative if you are not a mentally strong and healthy your mind can be your greatest asset as well as your biggest enemy. Lastly, consistency is everything, We are all human we can all do amazing things, however it takes time. So to those early on in the journey be as consistent as possible for as long as possible, and watch dreams become reality.
Looking back over the past 12 months or so, what do you think has been your biggest area of improvement or growth?
Getting over imposter syndrome. Embracing my uniqueness, embracing who I am, loving myself, and becoming and being my biggest fan.
