Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Trent Lee. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Trent, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
My father. I watched my dad have his hands in many of hustles. I just remember how motivated and proud he was to provide for his family and hold the household down. It poured into me and my daily life far as work, music, sports, now my daughter.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I don’t write from the sidelines—I write from lived experience. My work is shaped by hard lessons, quiet awakenings, and the long road between who we are and who we’re becoming. I believe growth is rarely comfortable, truth is often inconvenient, and meaning is earned through reflection. When I’m not writing, I’m learning how to live with intention—one choice at a time. I’m someone who’s been tested, changed, and rebuilt. My writing comes from real moments—struggle, clarity, faith, doubt, and everything in between. I don’t pretend to have it all figured out, but I’m committed to asking better questions and telling the truth as I sees it. My work is for readers who are tired of surface-level inspiration and ready for something real.
I write for people in the middle of becoming. My work explores identity, purpose, faith, and personal growth—especially in seasons of uncertainty. Drawing from personal experience, I believe transformation starts with honesty and continues with courage. My writing invites readers to slow down, reflect, and choose growth even when it’s uncomfortable.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The 3 qualities I feel were most impactful in my journey were genuine support, speaking life into my brothers, challenging their writing skills. The 3 skills I feel were most impactful were my writing style, rap versatility, beat selections.
My advice to folks early on in their journey is to really believe your product. Even when it’s not gaining traction, still fight for what you believe and have YHWY in your life and as well along your journey.

How would you spend the next decade if you somehow knew that it was your last?
I would love to travel the world. Experience new cultures, foods and religious beliefs. Plan trips and vacations with my family
