We were lucky to catch up with Tresha Vick recently and have shared our conversation below.
Tresha, we are so appreciative of you taking the time to open up about the extremely important, albeit personal, topic of mental health. Can you talk to us about your journey and how you were able to overcome the challenges related to mental issues? For readers, please note this is not medical advice, we are not doctors, you should always consult professionals for advice and that this is merely one person sharing their story and experience.
I am actively working on my mental health through prayer, wise counsel, faith, reading, journaling, and exercising. I know that sounds like a lot, but every single one of those things helps.
I pray every day, all day. I stay in constant communication with God, and I truly believe our relationship has grown deeper and stronger this past year—especially once I stopped living in fear and chose to live and walk in faith. Because you cannot do both.
Now let’s talk about wise counsel. Wise counsel are trusted individuals who give guidance to help you make sound decisions. The Bible says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding,” meaning there will always be things we simply won’t understand. That’s why God placed wise counsel on this earth—to help us navigate those areas. Therapists, psychiatrists, doctors, Christian counselors—those are all forms of wise counsel, and they have helped me in more ways than one.
My wise counsel has also provided medication. Medication has helped me in many ways, though I wasn’t always open to it. At first, I thought that taking medication meant I wasn’t trusting God. But I had to learn that faith without works is dead. The medication was the “work.” I already had the faith. I am still on medication now, but I’m trusting God that it won’t be long-term. I believe in getting to the root of things, and that’s exactly what I’m working on.
My faith means everything to me. It has pulled me through some of my darkest nights. I started a faith journal years ago because I felt led to document the things I was going through. I recently reread it after a rough day, and it reminded me that if the Lord did it before, He will do it again. If He brought me out last time, He will bring me out this time. I highly encourage everyone to start a faith journal.
Speaking of journaling—these days, I write simply to get my thoughts on paper. It’s good for me. I tend to overthink, so writing keeps me grounded and helps quiet my mind.
Reading and exercising have also played a huge role in supporting my mental health. Lately, I’ve been walking—either outside or in the gym—and there is a special kind of peace I feel when I walk. I love reading books on faith, self-development, and, of course, the Word. They all bring me peace, and my peace is important to me. My mental health is important to me.
Through all of this, I’m trusting God, staying patient in the waiting, and choosing to enjoy this beautiful thing called life.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’m Tresha Vick—originally from Wilson, NC, but I’ve been living in Georgia for almost 10 years now. I’m an MBA student at Clark Atlanta University, an event representative for a Wedding Planning & Design company, and the founder and CEO of Mone’t Lavish Hair Extensions.
I recently transitioned into the wedding planning space, and it has truly been such an exciting experience. I’ve always had a strong background in planning, and I’ve always loved to plan, but I never pursued it as a career until now. Honestly, stepping into this industry happened through faith and boldness. Everything I do is rooted in my faith, my trust in God, and my willingness to take risks—and this was exactly one of those moments.
After being out of work for almost a year, I sensed God leading me in a new direction. My background is in supply chain management, finance, and project management, but my interest began shifting toward marketing and planning. I asked myself, “What area of this industry truly fits me?” That’s when wedding planning came to mind. I love love—I’m a hopeless romantic—and I’ve always loved weddings.
The only challenge was that I had zero experience. So I knew I needed to learn. I started exploring job shadowing opportunities, and God literally told me to pursue that route. Long story short, I found a wedding planning and design company, reached out about shadowing, met the founder, and after talking with her about an upcoming event, I was invited to work with her. Nothing or no one but God.
Even though I’m in wedding planning right now, this role is just another stream of income for me in this season. The work is seasonal, and I am still actively seeking a full-time career that pays consistently.
As I mentioned earlier, I’m also the founder and CEO of Mone’t Lavish Hair Extensions, which is set to launch on December 8, 2025. Mone’t Lavish Hair Extensions is a faith-based, luxury hair brand dedicated to providing long-lasting, high-quality hair extensions while spreading the good news of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Our hair is 100% raw, unprocessed, and free of chemicals.
I am beyond excited about this launch because it has been a very long time coming. My original launch date was September 1, 2025, but after needing more time, seeking God in prayer, practicing patience, and completing the website, I knew the date needed to be pushed back—and I’m so glad I listened. I’m also glad I didn’t rush to give people a new date too soon. I waited until everything was truly ready. Now December 8 is near, and it is set in stone.
So ladies, if you are looking for great-quality hair from a trusted, faith-based company, shop Mone’t Lavish Hair Extensions on December 8. You’ll have your hair just in time for Christmas! ✨

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Boldness. Faith.
When I look at these three qualities, the two things that stand out to me the most are trust and hope.
Trusting and hoping in God.
Trusting that He is going to come through for me. Hoping that even when things look chaotic, God is working and He is right there in the midst of it all. The Bible says that hope does not put us to shame, and it also says that all things are working together for our good. I truly believe that sometimes what looks like “chaos”—what looks like everything falling apart—is actually everything coming together.
But you have to have patience, and you have to wait well. And you have to put in the work—because faith without works is dead. Action must follow belief.
As I mentioned before, I received the seasonal job as an event representative at a wedding planning company because of my boldness and my faith. I had no traditional experience, but I stepped out anyway. That opportunity came from trusting God enough to move. But even with that blessing, I am still seeking a full-time career. And to be honest, it has been hard. Very hard. I’ve experienced many rejections. I kept giving myself dates—“by this month I’ll have a career”—and month after month it didn’t happen.
My mom recently told me, “Stop putting a date on it. Trust God that it will happen in His timing.” And that hit me. Because she was right.
I’ve maxed out my savings and my investments. I had to put my credit card on pause because I have so much to pay off. But even through that, the Lord has not let me go without. He has provided for me. He continues to provide. And somehow, I always have more than enough. That’s nothing but God.
And while I wait, I will continue to pray, to trust, to hope, and to believe that my career is coming. Because I know it is.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
The most impactful thing my mom ever did for me was letting me attend Clark Atlanta University. No one I grew up with went to Clark, and no one was applying to out-of-state colleges or universities. I still remember the conversation we had after I received my acceptance letter. We were standing in the hallway of our home, and she asked, “Is this what you want to do?” I said yes, and she simply said, “Okay.”
And just like that, she—and God—made it happen.
Despite the challenges, moving to Atlanta completely changed my life. It shaped me, stretched me, and helped mold me into the woman I am today. I am truly grateful.
