Trevion , so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
Finding our purpose wasn’t easy for either one of us! However once Janay Cash and I had the conversation about Swaveway Playaz and how we wanted to change the culture of youth sports by teaching them business, name, image and likeness it was an easy decision to step out and create the path!
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
We provide a sports platform that expands beyond the game. All of our players are learning how to thrive outside of the game of basketball. Most of our players are business owners right now and will be full corporations by the time they graduate high school. We have a documentary that will be streaming on AppleTV, Roku, Amazon Firestick, and Google TV Via Eyeconic Television on September 20, 2024. Swaveway Playaz is not just a grassroots basketball team we are an organization that strives to break the stereotypical perception of what youth sports is and the horrible politics that are associated with it.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
It’s hard to narrow it down to just three. However, the quality that our business partnership possesses is the ability to respect the strengths and weaknesses of our partnership. Both of us have a special skill that can enhance the others. My skills are marketing and negotiation, Janay knows how to speak in the boardrooms, and she can dress up the issue with a bow to make doubters feel comfortable. My knowledge of the Houston basketball world and her expertise in the business world makes us a one-two punch in the grassroots youth sports world and we are instilling our strengths into our son, the CEO of Swaveway Playaz.
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
The collaboration we are seeking for our brand is a shoe circuit deal with the likes of Nike, Puma, and Adidas. Though we desire collaboration with one of these brands we want them to see the value in our brand and the importance of us keeping it at the forefront.
