Meet Trillyvango

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Trillyvango a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

TrillyVanGo, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.

I would say, I developed my confidence and self-esteem through practice and trial and error. It almost seems the opposite of the correct way to develop confidence, but I would just keep making verses and songs and seeing how people would react. And I found a way to say whatever I want to say in ways that were appealing to other people

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

What I do as an artist and creator, or what I get to do rather, is express myself through music. Mostly hip-hop and R&B with a little bit of pop.
What is special about it for me is that there is no limitation on how I can express myself. I never put a cap on where I can take a song or a project, the possibilities are infinite. I can get things off of my chest if I need to or just let a beat Tell me where to go with the feeling and vibes that I get from it. And I think others are able to find it special as well because we are all out here just trying to feel and experience and when you truly let go and let it out, it is surprising how many humans can relate. And I don’t hold back! I love to let it all out! ‘Keepin it Trilly’ as I like to say .
Because to me TrillyVanGo represents freedom of thought and creation with raw vulnerability.

With that being said, I have a lot of singles lined up for the near future. And I am also working on a project with an awesome producer, Brandon Black . That we are aiming to release in 2025. And the next step for me outside of Music is submerging further into merchandise and expanding ‘Trilly’ as a brand .

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Three qualities or lessons I have acquired that have made a big difference in my journey are
1. Being decisive about what to listen to as far as outsiders perspective and advice was an important thing for me to learn.Because Your dream is your dream and you can only compromise it so much before it becomes somebody else’s
2. your craft is the most important thing because it is the product, BUT all of the work outside of that is what is necessary to get eyes or ears on it. For the longest time, I thought I could just wrap and sing my way into $1 million or something crazy like that. But overtime, I have learned that there are things that you have to do that aren’t as exciting as your passion ,but just as necessary, if you want to pursue that passion
3. You may be down, but you’re never out.
Life is happening to everybody . There will always be obstacles and slumps And distractions. But when you truly love something, you always find your way back to it because your heart knows it is worth it. I personally believe that we should dream as big as possible, regardless of what our current reality looks like.

Overall, I would say persistence is key. I’m still learning every day and I think that is what we should be aiming to do anyways

What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?

This last year, I would say my biggest area of improvement and growth has been in the area of doing the background work or Some might say ‘the dirty work’.
Just prioritizing the behind-the-scenes work and the things that typically aren’t instantly gratifying. I love releasing music and getting on stage, but I Felt like I needed to take a step back to work on my presentation and business overall. I’m always creating music regardless. But you know what they say “ Presentation is everything” , And I feel like the fans and followers that I have thus far and that I will acquire, deserve the best. So I have spent a lot of this year preparing to give them the best in 2025
