Meet Trinetta J.

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Trinetta J.. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Trinetta below.

Trinetta, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?

I get my resilience from my Mom. My mother was a very determined and resilient spirit who overcame tremendous obstacles in her life. She raised five children single-handedly while also pursuing her goals and dreams. She operated a successful outreach program in Harlem, New York, serving the children and adults in the community, and she also received her college degree. My mother never gave up and nor will I ever give up or stop pursuing my goals or my purpose.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I am a professional entertainer. I have appeared on major television shows such as Lifetime TV (Atlanta Plastic), VH1 Behind The Music (Interview with 50 Cent), and on BET (sitcom).

I have been singing, and performing since I was a teenager. I am also a writer and have written (and released) several songs over the years. Most recently, I released my very first gospel song called “Stop The World”. Stop The World is a very powerful and positive song that has a passionate and uplifting message. Stop The World is available on Apple I-Tunes, Amazon, and wherever music is sold online.

I also create, write, direct, and produce films, shorts, and more! I am the Executive Producer of a short film entitled “The Future Husband Project” where I featured myself along with other single ladies in the Atlanta, GA area desiring to meet their future husbands. This particular project not only produced a great following, but, it also manifested real life dreams because most of the women who were featured on the project (including myself) are now married. True story: When I started The Future Husband Project, I was known as Trinetta Love, now I am known as Mrs. Trinetta J. You can watch The Future Husband Project on Youtube @TStarzzEntertaiment and watch the follow-up videos on my Youtube Channel @TrinettaJ

During my life as a sassy single, I wrote a book called “The Professional Dater” which is available on Amazon and Kindle. The Professional Dater is a book loosely based on dating life while I was in college. It’s very funny, emotional, and real. The book can be found on Amazon under my former name (Trinetta Love). I am also in the process of writing several more books, so please stay tuned!

I also have a Podcast called the Trinetta Truth where I discuss love, life, relationships, and real talk. I have a big personality along with a lot of life experience and wisdom and the Trinetta Truth gives me a platform to help others along their life’s journey. You can catch full episodes of The Trinetta Truth on Youtube @TrinettaJ

My life as an entertainer and creator is constantly busy and because I love what I do, it’s an amazing blessing. I am the lead singer of an amazing band in Atlanta called “It’s Your Party Band.” We perform in, out and around the Atlanta area and it’s so much fun. People ask me if I get nervous on stage, well, I will describe it more as exciting vibes. I get so happy when it’s time to perform in front of an audience because I love to uplift people and create smiles wherever I go. It’s my ultimate mission in life to travel the world bringing good music, bright smiles, and positive vibes to everyone I encounter.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back, the three areas of knowledge that were most impactful in my journey are:

1) Reading contracts: taking the time to read a contract is imperative. It is also important to hire a qualified attorney to read over any contract before signing.

2) Never trust that someone has your best interest. You must have your best interest and be the best advocate for yourself.

3) Don’t be afraid to ask for what you believe you are worth. Be fair in your price and negotiations, however, do not cheat yourself.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?

The most impactful thing that my Mother did for me was to teach me to never give up. When I was late to an audition for my college band’s dance team, I wanted to give up and turn around. However, my mother insisted that I show up anyway and audition. Not only was I able to audition for the dance team, but I earned a spot! I went on to become a part of one of the biggest and most popular HBCU dance teams of that time.
