Meet Trish Standley

We were lucky to catch up with Trish Standley recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Trish, so happy to have you on the platform and I think our readers are in for a treat because you’ve got such an interesting story and so much insight and wisdom. So, let’s start with a topic that is relevant to everyone, regardless of industry etc. What do you do for self-care and how has it impacted you?
Individuals are inherently unique, and as such, self-care is a personal journey. Recently, I’ve become attuned to my own “care” requirements.

On a monthly basis, I allocate time and alternate between facials, sauna sessions, and massages. These practices contribute to relaxation and improved circulation. The sauna, particularly beneficial for the skin, the body’s largest organ, is a key component. Every two weeks, I indulge in both a pedicure and a manicure, recognizing them as forms of care for both my physical and mental well-being.

Incorporating yoga into my self-care routine is a regular joy. It not only helps me center my thoughts but also brings balance to my body, fostering flexibility. Meditation is another vital aspect, steering my focus back to my thoughts and mind.

Self-care is designed to nurture every facet of one’s being – the mind, body, soul, and spirit. It is essential for remaining attuned to the authentic human we aspire to present to the world.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Learn, Learn, Learn – You don’t need to be an expert in everything, but strive to educate yourself sufficiently to form informed opinions in decision-making. While pursuing your dreams, resist letting others dissuade you from what fuels your passion. When faced with daunting tasks, break them down into smaller steps and tackle the first one before moving on to the next. Soon enough, the substantial task will be conquered. Your journey is distinct to you, so don’t let someone else’s path influence yours. Maintain your focus!

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
We are thrilled to mark a decade of the Style with Trysh podcast, and our spotlight this year is on “Caring for the Giver.” Recognizing that many caregivers often neglect self-care while tending to others, we aim to provide abundant support.
