Meet Troy Jackson

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Troy Jackson. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Troy below.

Hi Troy, great to have you with us today and excited to have you share your wisdom with our readers. Over the years, after speaking with countless do-ers, makers, builders, entrepreneurs, artists and more we’ve noticed that the ability to take risks is central to almost all stories of triumph and so we’re really interested in hearing about your journey with risk and how you developed your risk-taking ability.
I developed my ability to take risks by putting myself out there! After failing time and time again from being too reserved and afraid of taking risks and trying something truly new or bigger and better, I decided to put myself out there more and experiment so I can try and reach a new outcome. A couple examples I can give you were when I first started putting together events under the brand name 98 entertainment I was hosting weekly open mics that weren’t really doing too well so I had to devise a plan to try and make them better, after doing some studying, and what my current local scene was lacking, I decided to invest my time into showcases that eventually snowballed into the brand, evolving into an independent label that has done from artistic development and management to live concerts, DIY Music tours, video games tournaments, and more. None of that would’ve happened if I never started to take risks for real.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
As I share my path, being interviewed on Bold Journey, I’m excited to discuss a part of my role in Entertainment. The most thrilling aspect is being able to open doors for my peers. 98 Entertainment is shaped from creating timeless moments that foster a genuine connection. There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Some things that profoundly influenced it was mixing interpersonal skills with a high ambition drive. My advice for those early in their journey is to focus on having realistic goals, and achieve them by employing an ever changing dynamic. It’s crucial to stay consistent, and remember that to preserve with resilience.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
