Meet Trudean Haye

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Trudean Haye. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Trudean, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
Well, I’ve always had this innate desire to help people. It’s like this little voice inside me that says, ‘Hey, let’s make someone’s day a little brighter!’ So, whether it’s through my non-profit and philanthropy work or my creative brand business, my mission is pretty straightforward: spread some joy and lend a hand wherever I can. It’s like being on a mission to sprinkle kindness everywhere I go.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Hi there, I’m Trudean Haye, and I wear a few hats! As the founder of Trudean Haye Company, I’m all about bringing creativity to life through strategic branding and project management. I thrive on helping businesses and individuals tell their stories in unique and compelling ways.

But that’s not all—I’m also the brains behind ITAVFoundation, a non-profit organization based in Philadelphia. Through ITAVFoundation, I’m dedicated to making a positive impact in my community by supporting education, empowerment, and community development initiatives.

When I’m not busy building brands or making a difference with ITAVFoundation, you can find me indulging in one of my favorite hobbies: watching anime and diving into a good book. Anime is life.

Lol, it’s embedded into all that I do and who I am.

Oh, and did I mention I love to cook? My love for cooking stems from my upbringing in Jamaica, where food is not just a necessity but a celebration of culture and family. I’m also a proud mom to the most adorable four-year-old.

Being a momtrepreneur is a skill. It’s a delicate balancing act, juggling the demands of entrepreneurship with the joys of motherhood.

So that’s a bit about me—entrepreneur, brand strategist, project manager, anime lover, bookwhore, foodie and mom. I believe in living life to the fullest, embracing creativity, and making a difference wherever I can.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, three things have really made a difference in my journey:

Resilience & Determination: The ability to rebound from tough times has been crucial. My advice? Try to maintain a positive mindset, prioritize self-care, and seek support when needed. Don’t lose sight of your goal.

Adaptability & Always Having a Thirst For Knowledge: Things change fast, so being able to roll with the punches has been crucial. Stay curious, keep learning, and don’t be afraid to try new things.

Empathy & Understanding: Understanding others’ perspectives has helped me build strong relationships and make a positive impact. Practice active listening, be kind, and show compassion—it goes a long way.

Remember, growth takes time, so keep at it and you’ll get there. It’s important to recognize that it’s completely okay to start anew or reevaluate your goals.

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
Don’t laugh, but Fruits Basket. Fruits Basket holds a special place in my heart. It’s a manga by Natsuki Takaya. While it may not be a traditional self-help book, its lessons about empathy, acceptance, and the importance of connection are profoundly impactful. One of the most valuable nuggets of wisdom it offers is the idea that true strength lies in vulnerability and authenticity. The characters’ journeys teach us that it’s okay to embrace our flaws and imperfections, as they are what make us human and capable of forming deep, meaningful relationships. Another powerful lesson is the importance of empathy and understanding others’ struggles, even when they may seem different from our own. Through its rich storytelling and relatable characters, Fruits Basket reminds us of the transformative power of compassion and the beauty of embracing our true selves.
