Meet Tryna Gower

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Tryna Gower. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Tryna below.

Hi Tryna, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

Growing up in a multicultural home should have been a blessing, a tapestry of diverse experiences and perspectives. Instead, it became a labyrinth of confusion and pain. My narcissist mother, always the center of attention, wove a web of manipulation that ensnared everyone around her. My stepfather, a monster hiding behind a facade of normalcy, cast long shadows over my childhood.
In this tumultuous environment, I learned early on that the only person I could truly rely on was myself. My intuition became my lifeline, a quiet voice whispering guidance when the world around me made no sense. It was this inner compass that helped me navigate the treacherous waters of my youth.

As I grew older, I realized that the relationship I had cultivated with myself was my greatest source of strength. The multicultural aspects of my upbringing, which my parents had used as a tool for division, became my gateway to understanding the world’s complexity. I embraced the diversity within me, finding resilience in the very thing that had once been used to confuse me.

Meditation became my sanctuary. In the quiet moments of self-reflection, I honed my intuition, transforming it from a survival instinct into a finely tuned instrument of self-awareness. Each session was a step towards healing, a brick in the foundation of the person I was becoming.

The journey wasn’t easy. There were days when the weight of my past threatened to crush me. But with each challenge, I found myself stronger, more resilient. The intuition that had once been my only friend now became my superpower, guiding me towards healthier relationships and opportunities for growth.

As I stand today, I am not defined by the trauma of my childhood. Instead, I am shaped by the strength I found within myself. The multicultural home that was once a battlefield has become a source of richness in my life. The pain inflicted by my parents has transformed into a deep well of empathy for others.

My story is one of resilience, of finding light in the darkest of places. It’s a testament to the power of self-trust and the incredible capacity for growth that lies within each of us. Through cultivating a relationship with myself, I didn’t just survive – I learned to thrive.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

From Daydreamer to Filmmaker

I have always been a part-time spiritual teacher and daydreamer, now a visionary filmmaker on a mission to explore the profound secrets of humanity. With the difficult life experiences that have shaped me, I do my best to create a captivating blend of creativity and insight. As a storyteller, I delve deep into the human experience, crafting films that inspire self-discovery and ignite meaningful societal change. Each project I initiate is an invitation to tap into your intuitive, heart-based consciousness, encouraging you to embrace your true self and connect with the world around you. Join me on this transformative journey as we unravel the layers of existence together, one frame at a time! See the film; People 4 Peace with me on YouTube.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Growing up, I often found myself navigating a world that felt overwhelming and challenging, but three guiding lights helped me through those tough times: intuition, courage, and love. My intuition served as a compass, whispering truths that helped me make sense of my surroundings and guiding me toward safer havens. Courage was my shield; it pushed me to face fears head-on, reminding me that vulnerability could be a strength even though it was hard. And self-love—learning to wrap myself in a warm blanket with my own arms, reminding myself that I was better than they told me I was. I was me and that wasn’t only good enough, but I was better off than them and I owned it, it was up to me to find and explore the love I desired.

For those who are early in their journey and wish to cultivate these qualities, I encourage you to start by listening to your inner voice; trust your gut feelings, as they often hold the key to understanding your path. The secret sauce here is to actually follow what it says, even if it doesn’t make logical sense. Embrace small acts of bravery each day; even the tiniest steps can build your courage over time. It’s a stepping motion—keep moving. Lastly, nurture relationships that uplift you; love flourishes in environments where kindness is shared. Remember, every small effort counts on this beautiful journey of growth. So this also means detaching in a healthy way from the relationships that keep you stuck. If I could add a bonus tip, it would be to learn to breathe, meditation saved me from myself more often than I can count while I was building this balance within myself.
