Meet Tsvetelina Mitseva

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Tsvetelina Mitseva a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Tsvetelina, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
I was born in Bulgaria and I know a big part of my resilience comes from my heritage. The atrocities endured by my ancestors have ingrained in me the inner strength to always keep going despite the circumstances and to hope for a better tomorrow despite the odds. Another building block has been my own life experiences. My sister and I moved away from our family and friends in our early twenties and our journey as immigrants showed me how to live with very little and still feel content as well as how to adapt and overcome even in the most challenging circumstances. Overall life has been my greatest teacher, shaping my perspective on adversity, while providing valuable lessons and wisdom.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am a holistic therapy practitioner who’s dedicated to empowering individuals to break free from trauma symptoms, reconnect with their wholeness, and find meaning and fulfillment in their lives. My primary focus is on Therapeutic Breathwork, which I combine with other holistic modalities such as Yoga, Reiki, Somatic Experiencing, and a few other trauma-informed practices to support my clients with a comprehensive blend of holistic and clinical-based approaches. I support individuals achieve deep healing and transformation on all levels by cultivating the connection between mind body and spirit. Unprocessed trauma can profoundly affect various aspects of an individual’s life, such as relationships, behaviors, beliefs, thought patterns, and overall physical and mental health. Addressing trauma can be life-changing because it has the potential to resolve deep-buried emotional and physical issues that have been hindering an individual’s overall well-being on so many levels. Throughout breathwork treatment, individuals have the opportunity to discover their personal limitations that inhibit their health and relationships and work on ways to overcome them to better their mental and emotional well-being. One of the most rewarding aspects of my work is seeing clients become truly alive, and reconnect with themselves, and those around them after years of pain and suffering. Witnessing individuals overcome severe PTSD and embrace life again is truly inspiring, and it is why I am committed to sharing the power of breathwork and other holistic modalities with as many individuals as possible.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
If I had to narrow it down to three, compassion, self-knowledge, and curiosity would be the three that have helped not only my personal journey but also enhanced my ability to be effective at what I do. Compassion is vital for my career and nurturing relationships with others and myself. It’s an antidote to our tendency to self-criticize and be harsh when we make mistakes or fall short of expectations. We often forget that our biggest lessons come from past mistakes and having self-compassion in those moments is fundamental, it also allows us to treat ourselves and others with kindness, patience, and acceptance which is so much needed in our world. Self-awareness has been a constant source of self-discovery and growth for me. I try to include regular reflections on my thoughts, emotions, and actions, which has enabled me to gain deeper insights into my values, strengths, and areas for improvement. I have learned that is vital to stay connected with myself which has helped me align my choices with my authenticity. And third, keeping a curious mindset. I often say that I am a lifelong student. I try to read or listen to different podcasts whenever I can. Embracing curiosity has allowed me to approach life with a sense of wonder and open-mindedness. It has helped me to learn, explore new perspectives, and expand my horizons.

How would you describe your ideal client?
My ideal client is anyone who is seeking to improve their health, enhance their relationships, and elevate their overall quality of life. Whether you are facing specific health challenges, striving to create deeper and more fulfilling connections with others, or simply desiring a higher level of well-being.
