We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Tudor Alexander. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Tudor below.
Tudor, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
I was born in Eastern Europe and we were refugees from the communist revolution in Romania. My parents were hard workers and persistence was required because we had to make it. My grandma left everything and came to the US a few years later to take care of me, because I was only 5 years old when we came here. So it is just in our blood to be persistent, as any Eastern European person will tell you.
Yet more than any of that is my faith in Jesus. Without anchoring our lives in God’s steadfast love and sure promise we have nothing to hinge our problems on. I have learned you cannot do life on your own terms, it is rather a dance between us and the infinitely wise guidance of God in our lives.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I am the author of 5 books, host of the Dance of Life Podcast (going on 6 years now) and a former professional dancer and trainer. I am a certified health coach and I have worn many hats in my life because of entrepreneurship. Today I use my platform to create video podcasts, blog and research important topics that relate to Christianity – such as the end times, discernment, bible study and encouragement. I love doing what I do because there is nothing more important than spreading the news of Jesus’ soon return. This world is a passing vapor and many do not realize it, yet God’s plan will not be frustrated and we get to be part of it as it unfolds.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Persistence, Consistency and Faith.
If you want anything you have to be persistent and not give up easily. Those who give up easily never get anywhere.
You must also learn to be consistent and do repetitive tasks over and over again that are unrewarding. This is a skill that many don’t have yet it is essential for success.
Lastly you must have faith. Not faith in yourself, or in someone else, or in the world. None of these things can save you and provide for you in your darkest hour. You must have faith in God because this is where true success and life begin.
As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
The bible is by far the most meaningful book in my life. I never thought I would enjoy the bible and yet today I am coming up on my second read-through of it. It is a profound book that is an endless source of wisdom.
As far as nuggets of wisdom, it is difficult to point to just one. Practically any page of the bible that you open will have something profound to offer you. The words of Christ are unique in history in their scope and power, as well as their eloquence and wisdom. Nobody spoke like He did, and that is why it behooves us to study them. Christ said many things, but one of them is that nobody can come to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). Meaning we are unable to find God or become godly or righteous or perfect or good by our own efforts, which is what the world today teaches you because it is ruled by the lie from the garden of Eden.
