Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tweak On The Beat. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Tweak on the Beat, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
I became resilient thanks to my grandfather on my dad’s side—he taught me to face obstacles & challenges with quiet strength and keeping my head down/focused. My dad built on that legacy by teaching me to have thick skin, to stay steady no matter what life throws my way. I feel in music, there are highs and lows that can really throw people for a loop at times. So this is why resilience is important
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am Cleveland-born, and true to Ohio,
What started as a hobby during my college days in 2020 soon transferred into a passion and an embodiment of my true self.
Tourette’s syndrome has the effect of causing sudden unwanted and uncontrolled movements. To many, this disorder wreaks discomfort and anxiousness. As for myself, this stirred a new persona, one in which I want to uplift and raise awareness surrounding the 1.4 million people in the U.S. diagnosed with Tourette’s.
Inspired by modern-day pioneers, including Kenny Beats, The Alchemist, & DJ Khaled, I am constantly working on the next project to show the world.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Patience, Hustle/Drive, Passion.
Rome wasn’t built in a day – having patience as you grow in your music career is essential because although god has a plan, your time will come when you’re truly ready. Mine hasn’t fully come yet but I’m working towards it every day.
The passion aspect is very important too. Remembering the “Why” you do what you do is so important.
Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?
An ideal client for me… as my former boss Kevin Arsham once said: “You want to work with people who treat their business like a business… How you treat your own work (art) will impact the type of people that choose to collaborate with you.”.
An ideal client takes their content, music quality, and personal brand seriously.
