Meet Twinkle Zaman

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Twinkle Zaman. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Twinkle below.

Twinkle, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

I think our lives are like building blocks. If you look back at certain moments even when you were little you can connect the dots to where you are now. I would write a lot when I was a younger. Sometimes I would make things up and find my escape through my mind and other times I wrote things as they were happening. That was all before age 13. I didnt start to write again til I was 19. It was a different experience though. I felt exited to write. I felt inspired and giddy. It felt as if I was stepping into whoever I was supposed to be. It was really fulfilling. I’m not sure if we ever find our purpose or if it’s something we chase our entire lives but I know writing my stories makes feel that much closer. Sometimes it feels like I’m in a movie watching myself. One of my favorite quotes I like to remind myself often is ‘it’s not about the destination…it’s about the journey’.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

Writing has always been apart of my lifestyle. It’s been a form of therapy for me for as long as I can remember. I didn’t think I would ever be writing books. I feel it’s given me a way to express myself in an artistic way. Words hold so much power. I love that a stranger can relate to your stories and feel something. I’ve always been a storyteller at heart.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

I would say you have to believe in whatever it is you’re doing, have confidence, and stay persistent. I wish I had more confidence and believed in myself more early on. It’s hard though with no matter what you are doing. There’s only one of you and nobody else can do what you can do and bring it to the world like you.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?

I would just pause and take a break. Sometimes stepping away from it will help you accomplish more once you get back to it!
