Hi Tyjuan, great to have you with us today and excited to have you share your wisdom with our readers. Over the years, after speaking with countless do-ers, makers, builders, entrepreneurs, artists and more we’ve noticed that the ability to take risks is central to almost all stories of triumph and so we’re really interested in hearing about your journey with risk and how you developed your risk-taking ability.
I develop my ability to take risks at an early age, growing up, not being very tall I found out very early that without taking a lot of risk, I would never find out the opportunities that I would actually be able to benefit from mainly in sports. Basketball was where I develop my ability to really be a risk taker. I had a coach who believed in me, even though I was standing at 5’2, I was given the name Mighty Mouse by my coach because of my relentless effort to never give up and my desire to just be great. From there I learned growing up in life if I don’t take risks and believe in myself I will never have the opportunities that average height players have, nor have the opportunities that people have in life because I would get overlooked based off of my height even though I may have had the skills or knowledge to compete with the skilled or taller individuals , so that motivated me to be a risk taker growing up in life and as I began to build this company for my children to benefit from and to live well off of, that was my desire to go ahead and go for it all and see what opportunities I have with building a big brand from the bottom up, while putting in the hard work to continue to show how relentless I am in this world. Showing my 5KNGZ that it is OK to take a risk in life as long as you are Zealous, and you are very well equipped to deal with the challenges that comes along with being a risk taker.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Hello, my name is Ty’Juan Travon Hamilton Sr. I am the president of what will be a world wide brand 5KNGZ clothing. I started this brand three years ago when the pandemic but us all at a standstill, With the passion I have for my 5 children I call KNGZ on a map to do something positive in their lives. The brand is directly focus on their lives, and how they will grow up to be KNGZ and live a royal life, and provide a helping hand to others when the opportunity presents itself, 5KNGZ for me is my heart and soul because it’s everything that I’ve desired to show my children that you can have things in this world and you can do things the right way and if you put forth the time and effort, a lot of things can go your way, and a lot of great things can happen for you in this life when you keep your faith and put God first. 5KNGZ is what it is the number 5 symbolizes the 5 KNGZ that I have in my life, Ty’Juan Jr, Gavin, Alan, Travon and Adonis. The letters are broken down to understand the meaning of this whole idea, the K symbolizes Knowledge, the N symbolizes Noble, the G symbolizes, Graceful, and the Z symbolizes Zealous, being passionate in ambitious about everything that you do in life that is 5KNGZ. The colors are all 5 of my KNGZ birthstone colors so from the name to the meaning to the color, 5KNGZ is exactly what we are and how we live our lives as royal respectable humbled family and knowledgeable men walking this earth. When I started this brand it was during a challenging time, The pandemic hit I lost my job, and I had to really figure out what to do with my life moving forward, so as the risk taker that I am, I took my last check and I went all in to put myself in a position to be where I currently am today standing as the CEO of a brand I will one day have my KNGZ take over and continue the legacy of 5KNGZ and as I show my children how to professionally & successfully run a business, so they will one day be able to take work and hand this legacy off to their family and continue with a traditional generational wealth that I have built for them. Since the pandemic, I have managed to find out new ways and strategies to make this business successful. Making numerous of T-shirts for different individuals, who have taken a chance with my business working different events selling product as far as Muslim oils, another item from the collection of 5KNGZ items that I have learned to build and learn to make while learning this business. While I am managing situations currently attending school study in kinesiology, currently the girls football flag coach at Augustus Hawkins High School, taking courses and training and where gearing up to become the girls basketball coach as well. I am currently working two jobs while managing to run this business with the help of my KNGZ at times, and while it’s not an easy task I accept it all. 5KNGZ will be a household name and it will be in the likings of your favorite brands as in Nike, Adidas, puma, Gucci, Louie etc. I’m very passionate and involved with everything that goes on with 5KNGZ, from taking orders from the customers themselves to being hands on with the process of making the product that is ordered all the way to personally delivering the order, I accept and appreciate it all and any opportunity my KNGZ have a chance to experience and learn they are very well appreciative as well. from an individual to put in the work to making sure that everything is done the right way to the best of its ability because my customers are the I believe in doing right I believe in having faith I believe in doing the right things and I believe in putting in the hard work to get everything that you want and as I continue to build this brand and show my children how to do things the right way and how to become businessmen, and how to become a respectable knowledgeable working man I expect nothing less but the best and I expect nothing less than provide the best product Out there for my customers to enjoy. I appreciate everything that I have come my way and I have appreciated all the love, all the support for my family and friends, and all the continuous customers that continue to come my way by hearing word of mouth on the product and the service that 5KNGZ provide , as I continue to move forward, I continue to make best moves. I continue to make the better move for me and for my children, not just for me because as I grow, they grow and as I advance my development , and when they will all meet in the middle and will all be able to provide a better working community and will be able to provide for our community. The goal that we have set for 5KNGZ is to build our brand to provide for our community. That’s the goal that we have here at 5KNGZ.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
If I could point out the three things that was most impactful in my journey, I would say putting God first, having Faith, and believing in myself no matter what. Trusting God to continue to move forward and make my next move my best move even when I thought that I wasn’t able to get through any of my challenges is the key. God gave me strength to have the faith to put my best foot forward and trusting in God to risk it and just see what my best chances will be with all of this that I have created. So Faith was a big thing for me in this journey, The next thing that I will say that I had was patience, I had to have patience because as eager as I was to be great, and as eager as I was to try to put my name out there for everyone to know about it, I had to have patience to do things the right way to make sure that when I did have the opportunity to present this brand, it will be presented in the most genuine way that I can. Bringing it to reality was the last thing that I will say I was aiming for I was very ambition because I was very eager to be great and provide a brand that I feel was from the bottom of my heart and something I can pass down to my 5KNGZ. As much as I wanted the world to know what I was doing, I was even more eager to make sure it was presented in the correct way, and my determination to be great and my ambition to just work hard my attitude was never give up it all worked out. 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾.
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
My goal is to one day collaborate with my favorite brands that I used to love to wear when I was growing up like Nike, Adidas, puma, champion, along those lines just to make some sort of merchandise with my creativity, and my ideas along with their as well creativity, my other reason to collaborate with these brands is because they have changed the culture in many ways so for me it would be a special edition moment if I was given that opportunity along this journey and it will be a blessing, and it will be a dream Come true. For me to just have a design sweater or a sweatsuit our T-shirt just some of the things I would love to create something like that with one of my respectable Partners. Another reason I would love to collaborate with these respected brands is for because me growing up I was a simple guy I like nice things but I like expensive things as well and I also like to be comfortable and those are the brands that I felt made me comfortable growing up. I was a plain Jane I like to keep it simple basketball shorts tee shirt and Sandals, however when I did need to switch it up I cleaned up well. so for me to be able to partner with one of my respectable great brands that I grew up wearing, it would be a dream come true. Things like windbreaker with Nike would definitely be a dream come true, to make a Sweater with Champion I would love that and would be a definite dream come true, to make a letterman jacket with puma it’ll definitely be one for the books and it would be a dedication to the late Great Nip. These are just some fashionable things that I liked to wear growing up and these are some of the respectable brands that I wore while I was a young KNG. Now that I have an opportunity to run my own clothing line and have the chance to try to see what opportunities I have with collaborations. Those are definitely some of the brands that I will be looking forward to collaborating with in the near future and see what magic we can put together.
