Hi Tyler, so happy you were able to devote some time to sharing your thoughts and wisdom with our community. So, we’ve always admired how you have seemingly never let nay-sayers or haters keep you down. Can you talk to us about how to persist despite the negative energy that so often is thrown at folks trying to do something special with their lives?
How do I persist despite the haters, nay-sayers, etc.? It’s simple…I use them as fuel and eat them like a bowl of cereal. We’ve all heard that haters, bullies and anyone in those spectrums do what they do because you have something they don’t or they want something you have. If you’re talking about me then it’s a great thing I’m on your mind because it means I must be doing something right. People who aren’t in my corner or supportive of me I used to fold and get so upset and allow them to dictate my path and movements to my goals. I’d look for approval and acceptance from people that had no business near me. What I did was changed my perspective, surrounded myself with positive like minded people and love. Once I did that the negativity of others physically, mentally, emotionally and verbally didn’t affect me anymore. I learned to bounce those people off of me and use what they were trying to do to my advantage.

If you would have asked me 5 years ago I definitely wouldn’t have said a Health Insurance Broker but here I am. Absolutely blessed I’ve been in an industry that I can truly help people and connect with thousands of clients a year and be a positive aspect of their health journey. I work for Healthcare Solutions Team and they have allowed me to be myself, train me, allow mew to learn and use all my tools to help clients nationwide. Hearing stories of families and individuals each day is rewarding and difficult as sometimes the future is not as bright for others from their perspectives. I have over $4 Million Dollars in sales in 4 years, I’m licensed in over 35 states and contracted with over 50 carriers nationwide to maximize my ability to help clients. I mentor and lead a large team of over 15 agents and growing them individually has been rewarding and seeing them expanding their knowledge to prepare them to help other has been amazing. If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I give a huge credit to my days in working at Disney and doing Stand Up Comedy. I had no idea what God was ultimately preparing me for later in my life but he definitely had a plan for me. I worked at the Tower Of Terror as a creepy fun Bellhop from 2006-2010 and it was one of the most fun jobs I’ve ever had! I was fresh out of high school in Pennsylvania and wanted to explore and find myself in a new chapter of my life. I learned a lot of financial responsibility which my mom can tell you I wasn’t good at but I managed, Emotionally dealing with relationships, cultures, different people from all backgrounds and lifestyles and work responsibilities. These were all new to me but I was able to accept them and become who I am today. I met some of the most amazing people that will always have a place in my story and heart. After I started doing Stand Up Comedy and that was incredible! Loved the freedom the stage gave me and my stories allowed me to connect with people. Not every show was a hit but each show was a learning experience. Won a few competitions, met some amazing artists and I got to show the world my side of things. Each show you never knew who was in the audience and a few times my performances led me to some great venues, opening for top talent and host some legendary places. These experiences allowed me to connect on all levels to people, not be shy or afraid and just have people see who I was. Whatever step in life you are whether its where you want to be or not just remember this, your story isn’t over. Your book is still being written and the steps you are in now may be setting you up for your dream later. Just be patient, learn along the way and enjoy the journey.
