Hi Tyrone Patrick , really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
I found my purpose through life experiences. It’s kind of like Slumdog Millionaire, where all the answers were already laid out in front of him because of everything he had lived through. Music has been a part of me for as long as I can remember—it moved me, motivated me, and gave me instant joy and freedom. It even gave me the courage to perform in talent shows, from breakdancing to lip-syncing. Music made it all fun, and I fell in love with the way it made me feel.
In college, I learned how to DJ, starting with house parties before moving on to clubs and private events. I loved playing for crowds, seeing their reactions to the perfect mix, and feeling the energy shift with each transition. Controlling the vibe of a party and watching people dance to my music selection felt amazing. Every event, from birthdays to clubs to private parties, shaped me into a well-rounded DJ, teaching me flexibility, adaptability, and how to read a room. What started as a hobby became a profession fueled by my love for music.
Beyond DJing, my background in hospitality made me a better MC and business owner. Managing a lounge taught me the importance of attention to detail, organization, and creating the best possible guest experience—values I now bring to every client I work with.
It wasn’t until a few years ago that I truly realized how all these experiences—20 years of DJing and four years of hospitality management—had shaped me into the person I am today. They gave me purpose: to entertain, set the vibes, and create unforgettable memories for my clients. After every event, the feedback from clients reassured me that I was exactly where I was meant to be.
I’ll never forget one client, after his wedding, who hugged me, looked me in the eye, and said, “This is what you do. You make people happy. You’re amazing at what you do, and I thank you for making this the best night ever. From the very first meeting to now, everything was perfect.” At that moment, I realized DJing and MCing were about more than just music—it was about the entire experience we created from start to finish.
My purpose is to bring happiness to my clients through music, love, and dedication. And the greatest gift in return is the genuine appreciation and gratitude I receive, knowing I’ve helped create a moment they’ll never forget.

Looking back, three key qualities have been most impactful in our journey: passion, adaptability, and strong communication.
Passion is the driving force behind everything we do. We truly love music, bringing people together, and creating unforgettable experiences. That passion fuels our energy at every event and keeps us striving for excellence. For those just starting out, find what excites you about your craft and let it guide you—it will make the hard work feel more fulfilling.
Adaptability is crucial in the event industry, where no two events are the same. From reading the crowd and adjusting the playlist on the fly to troubleshooting technical issues, being able to pivot quickly is key. The best way to develop this skill is through experience—put yourself in different situations, learn from challenges, and always have a backup plan.
Strong communication has been essential in building trust with our clients. From the first consultation to the final song of the night, clear and open communication ensures we understand their vision and can bring it to life. For those starting out, focus on active listening and setting clear expectations—your ability to connect with clients will set you apart.
For anyone early in their journey, our advice is simple: stay passionate, be adaptable, and prioritize relationships. Success isn’t just about skill; it’s about how you make people feel. When you bring heart and professionalism to what you do, everything else falls into place.
