We recently connected with Uma Strong and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Uma, so happy you were able to devote some time to sharing your thoughts and wisdom with our community. So, we’ve always admired how you have seemingly never let nay-sayers or haters keep you down. Can you talk to us about how to persist despite the negative energy that so often is thrown at folks trying to do something special with their lives?
I Persist in spite of the haters, the naysayers, and the attackers In my life, because I know my destiny is great and inevitable no matter what obstacles are in the way.
I have found that in my life, my haters have put me in real danger through their energetic influence, and their hateful actions against me. I have been financially sabotaged by my family, friends, and strangers and as a result, I found myself in situations where I had to face real poverty, physical assault, and unsafe environments. So I do not take haters lightly. If you do nothing, the evil can work through their hatred to cause real pain and real harm. I used to have no defenses against my haters, and I was unable to stop all the bad things from happening to me caused by their ill intent and actions against me. I learned to take it seriously, and I learned to protect myself physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. I had to accept that the unseen, that thoughts, are real and can have actual effects in reality. In my culture, we call it the kurus and the pandavas- the pandavas being the righteous values, morals and virtues, and the kurus being all the negative and evil thoughts and energies. It is a battle within the mind in which the positive thought must win out through meditation and contemplation.
What I have learned to do is to meditate and reflect on the specific energetics, mind states, and thought forms that are being projected by others, and then seeing how I can love myself even more in those ways. I let go of the reflection within myself. I use their hatred to fuel my self love because the truth is that most haters are actually jealous, and that is a compliment. This is because they like something about you and want to be like you in some way. When they feel like they cannot be or have that for themselves, they translate it into anger. So I forgive them and love myself more.
Haters are gonna hate but I’m gonna keep on Rising in Love.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Swetha LLC Healing Arts & Events is a small, Ann Arbor area local business run by Uma (born and raised in Ann Arbor) and Anirvan Strong, her husband of over a decade. They also have over a decade of experience and training in the Healing Arts and are experts in meditation, holistic health, plant medicine, sound healing, music, visual art, bodywork/massage, healthy lifestyle, events, and more. Our business is special because of our experience and training for more than 10 years, our commitment to walking the walk in our own life, and our rare, unique energy and skill that you really cannot find anywhere else. We also truly care. We care about the world, and we care about people. We especially care about animals, children, and the underprivileged- that is why we devote at least 5% of our proceeds to local causes that care for animals, and those who need help in life. Our dream is to run an animal sanctuary where people can come to find healing and help from our services as well as the animals. We would love to throw events where anyone can experience healthy fun and play, and we would even offer free holistic services to people and animals, as well as free vet care when it would save a life and would be otherwise unaffordable. So whenever you go to swethaonline.com and book a massage, a sound healing, or a guided meditation, you can receive for yourself AND give back to your community! When you decide to experience our incredible, high-vibe private dinner and concert, or hire an amazing visual artist or musician, you can help others by enjoying yourself and you can feel good about your purchase. Go to Swethaonline.com to learn more and for really good deals on healing sessions!
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Above all, just be a good person. When you are a truly righteous person, you are the hero of the story, and you will succeed, try and forward the evil, and live happily ever after.
Goodness, kindness, love, compassion, emotional and mental strength, awareness, and balance.
Holistic and plant medicine, creative and healing arts.
These are the things that have helped me the most in my life.
Learn how to know, heal, and be yourself by becoming still, and listening to the inner voice all the way inside, beyond the untrue thought forms.
To do this properly, you have to purify and that’s where the healthy organic superfood, herbal and holistic lifestyle comes in.
Alcohol can deteriorate, distract and diminish your ability to thrive and be healthy and health is wealth.
But plant medicines are here to help your mind, body and spirit and keep you healthy while also helping you naturally experience the good feelings you deserve. Plant medicines, including cannabis, were crucial in curing alcoholism and depression in my life.
Try not to be dependent on anything outside of yourself as much as possible. As much as you can, receive your
happiness and peace from within yourself and from your relationship with the Creator of all that is/the universe and your life purpose.
Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
My husband and I are going on now 11 years. He has been the ultimate support that I needed in crucial ways. For one thing, he was celibate with me for nine years after realizing that I had rape trauma and needed healing from over 10 experiences of sexual assault from age 17 to 23.
I’m so grateful that he studied and practiced meditations, counseling, psychology, yoga, introspection, and holistic medicine for over 10 years because his expertise helped me heal in above average time. It usually takes up to five years per sexual assault experience to heal according to studies done on RTS and from and experience I can tell you that it is a complicated, multifaceted psychological mess to clean up.
The holistic/healing arts techniques my husband shared with me and taught, was I able to fully heal from things that some do not ever recover from.
My partner, being simply kind, loving, caring, attentive, aware, and compassionate towards me, was so rare in my life and so very needed.
By being a good man who actually cares about my personal empowerment as a woman, I have gained enough, inner strength, power, resilience, and disciplined to live my dreams and be a truly respectable and respected woman. An inspiring, empowered woman.
True success is fulfillment in every area of life. And that true full success can only happen to a person when they cleared away the mental/emotional blocks that come from negative or traumatic experiences in life. If you can feel it, you can heal it and then you will attract a better reality. So if you’re not succeeding in life, meditate on your purity, clarity, & right mind state.
My husband holds me to a higher standard of myself by holding up traditional values of purity, family, loyalty, and commitment. He also is extremely masculine but does not try to control me and is a truly rare, balanced, healthy man. Our relationship can serve as a source of inspiration to others.
