Meet Uno Montana

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Uno Montana a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Uno, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?

I feel the source of my work ethic derives from obsession with the craft, and the power that art has on perception you could learn a lot from art and that awareness is what carries my respect for it. I have also become addicted to the feeling of writing a banger. There’s nothing like it. It’s not when you perform it really,
it’s not when they talk about it on the radio. The bliss I feel is found in during the creative process, and upon completion not so much sales.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

Uno Montana aka (El Unico) is a young Puerto Rican artist from Middletown New York, looking to put on for his city, by pioneering a new wave of music.
This new wave of music is crafted to inspire not only his generation, but generations to come.
Mr. Montana is an extremely talented and versatile artist, well versed in all genres of music from A to Z including: dancehall, rnb, hip hop, alternative rock, afro beat, etc.
Uno does not curse or glorify negativity when expressing his self creatively. Adopting somewhat of a conscientious yet, unapologetically honest approach, in hopes that us the listeners can learn, relate, and evolve from his allegories.
Uno created his own label, Trained To Go Ent, with likeminded individuals who are pushing the same inspiring message. Uno and his team at TTG inspire the world around them with the content, music, and merch that they create. While helping anyone they can, TTG and its members continue to help the community around them.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Discipline, consistency, and optimism

If you are just starting the music journey
I recommend Broadening your horizons,
expand your taste in music, be open to new things.
Realize that inspiration is all around you.
You just have to see it that way.
Work on your penmanship ,stage presence, and believing in yourself.
Usually artist have one, two, but having all three, that’s what makes a superstar.
How do I practice this you might ask ?
How do you get better at running?
You run.

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?

The Bible is one book in particular that has shaped my mind and heart, from the way, I treat others to the way I write music, I’m not perfect but I am a man of faith I do have my moments like everybody else but I try my best.
A bible verse three verse I feel is very powerful is proverbs 3:5 “put all your trust in the Lord and lean not on your own understanding.”My annotation of that is you cannot lean on your own understanding because what we understand, is only what we’re willing to accept.
Another one is Jeremiah 17:9-10
“The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? “I the Lord search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve.”
The desires of the heart are deceitful and will mislead you examples would be The things and people we made love that are bad for us.
