Meet Vaeja

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Vaeja. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Vaeja, so excited to have you with us today, particularly to get your insight on a topic that comes up constantly in the community – overcoming creativity blocks. Any thoughts you can share with us?
Hehdjd

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
VAEJA is a music production duo based out of Salt Lake City, Utah. It consists of Luke Steele and Eli Gunderson, We’ve been meeting up three nights a week to work on music for the past four years while both maintaining full time jobs and finishing school. Music has always been a free and creative outlet for us. Being able to take sounds, stretch and warp them beyond recognition and finding a way to somehow make it musical is an incredibly addictive. However, putting it out into the world and it being received well is the cherry on top.
We are really excited to release the rest of our new EP “NONESSENTIAL” Which is a collections of songs we made during Covid that didn’t really have a place to go but we felt like we should release them anyways. That comes on August 28th.
The most exciting thing we have coming is two new singles with that feature one of our friends, Lauren. Those two singles will be coming out at the end of September and October and we expect them to do very well.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Consistency, Creativity and general enjoyment. All of that other stuff is important but the most important thing for us is the ability to enjoy what we are doing now.

How would you spend the next decade if you somehow knew that it was your last?
Well we just got our studio broken into… definitely a bummer!
