Meet Vaiah

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Vaiah a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Vaiah, thank you so much for opening up with us about some important, but sometimes personal topics. One that really matters to us is overcoming Imposter Syndrome because we’ve seen how so many people are held back in life because of this and so we’d really appreciate hearing about how you overcame Imposter Syndrome.

I think it is a constant battle artists go through. I don’t know if I have overcome it yet. I do think most days I feel great about myself and everything I have accomplished, but there are definitely harder days where believing in myself can be a bit more challenging. I think it’s ok to have these days, we are only human after all. But what’s most important is to be gentle with ourselves when we are not feeling our best and give ourselves some grace. Let ourselves feel whatever we have to feel, but without forgetting how far we have come. “Success” is also about being here, being present, simply existing, and every little thing we do every day counts towards it.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I am a singer/songwriter born and raised in Venezuela. I made my way to Miami to pursue my dream in music and I am excited to share with the world my latest project called “Un Preview.” Heartwarming work that highlights a new phase in my career. With rhythms of Reggaeton, Pop, and Bossa Nova, I invite you to connect with your inner sensuality and tenderness. It is now available in all music platforms and just like the name says, it is a “preview” of what’s to come!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Determination, discipline, and courage. I think for anyone who wants to succeed in the music industry they need to not only be extremely passionate and in love with what they do, but also need a lot of determination and discipline to make it happen. You can have any dream, but with no plan or execution nothing can ever really come out of it. A lot of times we are going to be faced with obstacles and things that might even frighten us, but that is why we have to be courageous and go after what we want no matter what. At the end of the day, the things that scare us the most are the things that shape us.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

Always! As a singer/songwriter I am always open to meet and collab with new producers, songwriters, photographers, videographers… I love being around creative minds, so definitely hit me up and let’s make some art together!
