Meet Valeka Jessica

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Valeka Jessica. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Valeka below.

Valeka, so many exciting things to discuss, we can’t wait. Thanks for joining us and we appreciate you sharing your wisdom with our readers. So, maybe we can start by discussing optimism and where your optimism comes from?
I marvel at the fact that I can see, taste, smell, hear, and feel. I make love to my life with imagination daily, and all of these experiences are free!

How grateful are we to smell beautiful aromas daily, witness a sunset every evening, and listen to music that electrifies our soul. These are the things that bring me joy.

Hearing my mother laugh is the greatest sound; it paints my life.
Talking with my father daily and listening to his life stories fuel me with hope.
Connecting with my nephew through FaceTime, observing him figure out how to talk with his braces on … lol … is the sweetest experience.
Dancing with my brother to our favorite song, “Best Friend” by Brandy, and holding ourselves accountable to our childhood bet: “First one to a million, gotta give the other sibling a million”… lol … but now it’s “first one to a billion…”

These moments in time are priceless treasures in my life, and they bring me feelings of pleasure all of the time.

The energy I experience from these moments fuel my optimism. It’s as if optimism is a byproduct of the gratitude I feel for the simplest things in life.

So… gratitude is my key to optimism. I know that by continuing to be grateful, wonderful things and opportunities will always flow my way. My present and future life will always be filled with abundant experiences, because I choose daily, to have a grateful heart, mind, soul, and spirit.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I was married for 10 years. And ne-ver – did – I – think that we would divorce. Not us. We were something special. On some Black ass, Black love Whimsically Romantic Fairytale Shit.

We were in our hometown of Washington DC at The Black Student Fund’s Annual Fundraising Gala, and of course I was the President of the Alumni Association. I was fabulous, standing elegantly in my Periwinkle Blue Vera Wang Gown having a beautiful conversation with my dear friend Abdullah’s father. When out of nowhere, the entire left side of my body started tingling all over.

“turn to our left.”
My subconscious said intriguingly.
So, I turned.

Before my eyes were 3 gentlemen sitting at a long table.
I scanned them each…

The man to the left: “uh uh…his soul not right inside.”

The man to the right: “…ahhh, he’s a sweet-spirited man, but somethings a lil off … so… no.”

But, the man in the middle: “… The man in the middle … is exactly for me.”

And HE’s why the left side of my body has been tingling all evening. Sending me his pheromone energy and shit. I feel ya boo…

I gently excused myself from my conversation with Abdullah’s father.

“Mr. Wright, it was a pleasure catching up. Kiss the family for me. Love y’all!”

I sashayed toward the man in the middle in my periwinkle Vera Wang gown, extended my left hand and said:

“What’s up? I’m Valeka J Nichols.”

As he kissed my hand, his tiny beard hairs tickled my fingers in the most orgasmic way:
“What’s up? I’m Jaden C.”

I was so taken by his presence that I said what’s up again. However, it was in the subtext of: “This nigga bout to be my man…yeah, this nigga right here, bout to be my man.”

Confidently in the call and response effect he repeated back:
“What’s up.”

And HIS subtext: “Yes. I am. About. To be. Your man.”

There were some jazz CDs for sale at the table he was occupying.
I looked deep into his dark brown eyes and asked:

“Which album should I buy?”

He confidently replied:
“This one.”

I said: “Why?”

His reply:
“Because I’m on it.”

I was turned on by his confidence

He became my man that night. Oh, and yes, of course, I bought the album and learned every song and drum solo as if I wrote and produced it myself. My ex-husband is one hell of a drummer!

Ten years later, we shared incredible experiences, fun times, exuberant moments, terrible lows, an IVF embryo that was terminated, and much more.

However, from my those experiences I birthed my brand: “Blossoming After Divorce (BAD)” and my one woman show
“I’m a Mother Fucking Super Star!”

I believe as artists, we heal. We use art & entertainment to heal and to make people feel good.

Sharing my life stories—the good, the bad, the ugly, the fabulous, the depression, the manifestations, the visualizations— are all to inspire hope, healing, and self-belief in others!

From the pain of a surprise divorce, I chose to strengthen my mind by focusing on the positives of the situation. This journey led me to incredible artistic experiences and a wonderful community.

The pain birthed a masterful process, which I call: Blossoming After Divorce.

My journey has been incredibly fulfilling! Divorce turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to me.

I’m thrilled that my book (which is available on Amazon), “Blossoming After Divorce: 11 Tips to Manifest the Goddess Within: A Magic Book” is healing women.

My one-woman show, “I’m a Mother Fucking Superstar!” is encouraging women who are in the midst of a divorce that they all Mother Fucking Super Stars, who have the power to create the life of their dreams, and Blossom After Divorce (The BAD Way!)

Thanks to my optimism, I’ve performed my show in London, Philly, and Atlanta. We’re now in pre-production for a World tour and a live taping of the show, with Rhavynn Drummer directing once again!

I produce shows.
I direct shows.
My content consistently goes viral!

I’m actively living my dreams daily, visibly Blossoming After Divorce, with the results evident in my life.

I am so blessed! My brands are blessed, my businesses are blessed! I am blessed! You are blessed! We are all blessed! THANK YOU GOD!

All of these blessings have come from me changing my mindset to positively navigate life’s experiences.

Through creating my own work, I’ve learned the importance of having control over my life, so I decided to become a successful entrepreneur.

My notary company, Midtown Atlanta Notaries, is the top notary company in Atlanta.
I’m grateful for my amazing business partner, Niema Bracey! and I’m grateful for our wonderful clientele!

It’s only up from here baby!

I’ve been blessed with all of this because I chose to shift my thinking to Blossom After Divorce, and every day, I’m grateful for choosing a positive mindset.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Not in any particular order:

– You have to believe that You’re A Mother Fucking Super Star… so… Affirm Yourself and Pray Daily!
-Discipline. You have to lock in. Lay a brick a day.
-Therapy for you mind, body, spirit and soul, and when you go to therapy … DO THE WORK!!!!!!
-Self Love & Self Care

Advice:
Your only competition is with yourself. Show up for your damn self!
