Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Valene Stone. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Valene , we sincerely appreciate you joining us today and agreeing to talk about some very personal topics. So, to kick things off, let’s talk about a tough one – divorce. Can you talk to us about how you overcame divorce?
How I Overcame Divorce
Like so many marriages, life threw me a curveball. After 15 years with my best friend and the father of my two beautiful sons, my marriage ended. Within just three weeks, I was separated and also lost my job. My world felt like it was crashing down.
In the midst of heartbreak, uncertainty, and trying to hold it all together for myself, my boys, and my now ex-husband, my fitness routine began slipping away—along with the strong, confident woman I once knew. But then I made a choice: instead of letting despair take over, I flipped the switch in my mind, and I grabbed onto the one thing that had always grounded me—movement.
I went live on Facebook, sweaty and unpolished, and said, “Even if life feels overwhelming, just move your body. You’ll feel better no matter what.” That was the moment everything shifted. I remembered the power of self-care and how vital it is to show up for yourself—especially when life feels messy.
My sons became part of this journey, playing beside me as I squeezed in short, powerful workouts. During the pandemic, I continued to go live, inspiring other moms to move their bodies, even if just for 10 minutes. And slowly, I rebuilt—mentally, emotionally, physically.
Fitness became more than exercise. It became a lifeline. A way to reclaim my power.
From dancing as a toddler to cheering in high school and working out through motherhood, movement was always part of me. Even during the chaos of stay-at-home mom life, I discovered how just 7 to 12 minutes of intentional movement could change everything.
But the real transformation happened when I began to study the mind—starting with Dr. Joseph Murphy and then diving deep into Bob Proctor’s teachings. I learned that true change doesn’t start with the scale—it starts in your mind. That’s what inspired me to create my 3-step process and write my book, Fit & Fabulous: The Secret to Your Dream Body in 3 Simple Steps.
This book isn’t just about fitness—it’s about freedom. It’s for every mom, every parent, and anyone who feels stuck. If I could rebuild from heartbreak and overwhelm, you can too.
So let me ask you—what would you love?
Set the intention. Move your body. Align your mindset.
And watch your dream body—and life—begin to take shape.

Her message?
If she can rise, so can you. It all starts with one choice—and a question: “What would I love?”
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, there are three core qualities and areas of knowledge that truly changed everything for me—especially during life’s most difficult transitions.
1. Resilience
Life will throw you curveballs. It’s not about avoiding challenges—it’s about how you respond to them. Divorce, job loss, single motherhood… each tested me in ways I never imagined. But resilience gave me the ability to stand back up, even when I felt broken.
Advice: Start by giving yourself permission to feel it all—but don’t stay there. Anchor into even the smallest action, like movement or journaling. Each time you rise, you become stronger.
2. Mindset Mastery
Everything starts in the mind. My transformation began when I started studying personal development—especially the subconscious mind, through teachings like Dr. Joseph Murphy and Bob Proctor. I learned that lasting change starts with belief, not willpower.
Advice: Study your thoughts daily. Affirm what you do want, not what you fear. Surround yourself with mentors, books, and programs that expand your thinking.
3. Authentic Connection
Whether it was going live with no makeup, dancing in my living room with my boys, or coaching women 1:1, showing up as myself built the strongest bonds. People connect with real, not perfect.
Advice: Be willing to be seen—messy, honest, and human. Your story is your superpower. The more authentic you are, the more impact you’ll have.
These qualities didn’t just help me overcome obstacles—they helped me build a life and brand rooted in purpose. And if I can do it, anyone can.
Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
Who Helped Me Most on My Journey
There are two people whose support and guidance truly propelled me forward—Brian Proctor and Peggy McColl.
Their mentorship came at a pivotal moment in my life—when I was rebuilding after divorce, rediscovering who I was, and stepping into my purpose as a coach, author, and guide for others. Both Brian and Peggy are incredibly intuitive, and they helped me not only believe in my vision but also believe in myself.
Brian Proctor, through his humble, profound wisdom and the legacy of his Father Bob Proctor, helped me understand that everything I need is already within me. He reminded me of the power of self-image and inspired me to stay connected to my truth, even when doubt crept in. He challenged me to set my intention and get my book out into he world!
Peggy McColl has been such a powerful light in my journey—encouraging me to take bold action, develop and launch my book, and trust the process. Her energy and belief in what’s possible helped me stop waiting for “perfect” and just start moving with purpose.
Together, their mentorship gave me permission to dream bigger—and the tools to turn those dreams into real results.
To anyone starting their journey: Find mentors who see you and challenge you to grow. Invest in your mindset. And always trust that if the dream is in you, it’s for you. The right people will show up when you’re ready to rise.
