Meet Valentin Garcia

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Valentin Garcia. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Valentin, thank you so much for joining us today. Let’s jump right into something we’re really interested in hearing about from you – being the only one in the room. So many of us find ourselves as the only woman in the room, the only immigrant or the only artist in the room, etc. Can you talk to us about how you have learned to be effective and successful in situations where you are the only one in the room like you?

Being the only one in the room has taught me how to turn difference into an advantage. Early on, walking into spaces where no one looked like me forced me to build confidence from the inside out. I couldn’t rely on familiarity or validation, so I learned to rely on preparation, storytelling, and the value I bring. Instead of shrinking, I focused on showing up with clarity, intention, and a deep understanding of my craft. That mindset helped me stand out not because I had something to prove, but because I had something meaningful to deliver.

Over time, I realized that being “the only one” is actually a form of visibility and an opportunity to lead. It sharpened my ability to read a room, connect with people authentically, and turn my unique perspective into strategy. That’s one of the reasons VG Creations exists today: to show businesses what’s possible when you combine creative excellence with lived experience. My difference became my strength, my storytelling became my voice, and my work became the proof.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

Before starting VG Creations, I was a CrossFit coach who loved teaching and being in a positive environment. I had always played around with cameras but never took it seriously.

Then 2020 hit the start of the pandemic. I found myself working at Publix, shifting from something I was deeply passionate to simply trying to survive. I continued coaching CrossFit, but everything had moved online. During that time, I decided to buy a camera and lens to start recording content for the gym.

That decision changed everything!

While juggling all of that, I launched VG Creations LLC and began freelancing, all while still coaching twice a day and managing the gym’s content full time. Local business owners started noticing the content I was creating, loved what they saw on social, and began reaching out to hire me.

That’s how VG Creations was born.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, the three qualities that shaped my journey the most were resourcefulness, storytelling, and relationship-building. Resourcefulness taught me how to figure things out even when I didn’t have the perfect gear, the perfect team, or the perfect roadmap just the drive to make something great. Storytelling became my real superpower; once I understood how to translate emotion into strategy, everything from filming events to helping brands grow clicked into place. And relationship-building opened every door that talent alone couldn’t learning how to connect with people, earn trust, and deliver consistently is what turned clients into partners and opportunities into long-term momentum.

For anyone early in their journey, my advice is simple: practice resourcefulness daily, even in small ways—solve problems instead of waiting for perfect conditions. Study storytelling like a craft, not a trend; understand why certain visuals, messages, and moments make people feel something. And finally, invest in people show up reliably, communicate clearly, and treat every interaction like it matters, because it does. These skills compound, and over time, they’ll separate you from everyone trying to take shortcuts.

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?

Honestly, the person who has been most helpful in helping me grow both personally and professionally has been my wife, Giselle. She’s the one who believed in me long before the results showed up, and she’s pushed me to develop the discipline, confidence, and clarity I rely on today. Whenever I faced challenges whether it was navigating tough clients, leveling up my skills, or questioning my own direction she grounded me, encouraged me, and reminded me of the bigger vision. Her support wasn’t just emotional; it was strategic. She helped me see blind spots, challenged me to improve, and pushed me to operate with higher standards. A huge part of who I am and what VG Creations has become is because she stood beside me through every step of the journey.
