We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Valeria a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Valeria , so great to be with you and I think a lot of folks are going to benefit from hearing your story and lessons and wisdom. Imposter Syndrome is something that we know how words to describe, but it’s something that has held people back forever and so we’re really interested to hear about your story and how you overcame imposter syndrome.
Throughout my career, I have experienced impostor syndrome at various stages; every time I reached a new level, that feeling tried to resurface. It is a psychological phenomenon first described in the 1970s, defined as the belief that one is not deserving of their achievements, even when there is clear evidence to the contrary.
In my case, I decided to confront it through deep self-awareness work. I created a list I called “My Value”, where I documented my accomplishments, progress, and the journey I had made from my beginnings. This exercise allowed my mind to see tangible proof that my results were legitimate and that I had rightfully earned my place through effort and discipline.
A tool that reinforced this process was the book “The Power of Your Subconscious Mind” by Joseph Murphy. Its teaching on how the subconscious manifests what we think and rejects what lacks evidence helped me reprogram my inner dialogue. I learned to replace doubt with certainty and align my thoughts with the reality of who I am.
“Impostor syndrome stopped being an obstacle when I realized my achievements were proof of my true value.”

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I work as a Private Portfolio Investor, and I also dedicate part of my time to mentoring individuals who are seeking a profound transformation, not just mentally, but financially as well. My approach combines strategy, education, and personal development, helping others reach their full potential and achieve sustainable results in their lives.
The most exciting part of my work is the ability to turn results that once seemed like mere dreams into tangible reality. Nothing is impossible; it’s about finding the right strategy to bring those goals into the present.
I also firmly believe that everything can be transformed, which is why I am preparing my first book, “POWERFULLY”. It’s a clear and specific guide on how to achieve results in less than 90 days. After reading so many books and paying for so many false promises, I grew tired of content full of filler; I prefer to be clear, direct, and precise, because people want real results, not internet gurus.
I am also deeply passionate about personal transformation, as I was my own first success story: starting with no resources, I have built a meaningful trajectory. While many challenges and lessons still lie ahead, at 25 I possess a level of awareness and clarity about life and success that surpasses that of many adults with decades more experience.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The first is my strategic planning and vision. I focus on understanding the bigger picture and anticipating scenarios, which allows me to make decisions aligned with long-term goals and deliver sustainable results.
The second is my effective communication. I’ve learned that delivering a message with clarity and empathy not only builds strong relationships, but also inspires trust and motivates people to move forward in the same direction.
The third is my discipline, which I see as the cornerstone of everything I’ve accomplished. Discipline has enabled me to remain consistent, overcome challenges, and transform vision into action. For me, it is not just a habit but a philosophy of life that turns goals into tangible realities.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
The most important person in helping me overcome challenges has been myself. I say this with conviction because while I’ve been fortunate to learn from outstanding mentors and institutions like UNAM, UCLA, and HARVARD, no mentor, book, or opportunity could replace the inner decision to rise.
When I arrived in Los Angeles with no money, no contacts, and no clear path, I quickly realized that resilience, self-discipline, and belief in my own vision would be my greatest allies. I had to become my own motivator, my own strategist, and sometimes even my own safety net.
What truly transformed me was embracing the idea that no one is coming to save you—you must save yourself. Success begins the moment you take full ownership of your growth. That mindset has been my greatest teacher, and it’s the foundation of everything I’ve built today.
