Meet Valeria Serra

We recently connected with Valeria Serra and have shared our conversation below.

Valeria , first a big thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and insights with us today. I’m sure many of our readers will benefit from your wisdom, and one of the areas where we think your insight might be most helpful is related to imposter syndrome. Imposter syndrome is holding so many people back from reaching their true and highest potential and so we’d love to hear about your journey and how you overcame imposter syndrome.

I don’t think I can say I fully overcome imposter syndrome cause I get it often, sometimes when I finally have a day off after many events, I tend to think “I have to keep working or I need to look for more events or else I will get behind”
But little by little I am starting to appreciate my time, my energy, my talents, and most importantly my health, rest is very important or else Im not gonna be able to perform
That what I think when I want to overcome imposter syndrome

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I love to tell a story about love, resilience and happiness using the voice, the violin and the fashion
With all the darkness surrounding us every single day, I want to be an inspiration to those that think life is boring or worse, not worth living
What I do is beyond music, art and fashion, I am a normal girl that happen to work harder and harder until I get to the highest levels, and because I did it, I want people to think “I can do it too”

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Besides the skills, I think Resilience it’s the main ingredient for the recipe of success, because in the way there will be rocks and failures that will make you think “You’re not good enough”, but the skill of not giving up, the strength of wiping your tears and think “let’s try again” is not for the weak, is for the people who will be leaders and great at what they do

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?

Support.
Not many parents believe that their children will be successful in life when they choose an artistic career, and we get it, it’s a very competitive market and not everyone can make a living from it. Of course I would lie if I say that my parents were not scary, but something that they always say to me is “If God put this talent in you, it’s because He will do something big with that, and we are not the ones who will step into His way, so we will support you”
