Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Valerie Delgado. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Valerie, thank you so much for joining us today.  Let’s jump right into something we’re really interested in hearing about from you – being the only one in the room.  So many of us find ourselves as the only woman in the room, the only immigrant or the only artist in the k, etc. Can you talk to us about how you have learned to be effective and successful in situations where you are the only one in the room like you?

Hi thank you so much for having me!  I’ve learned to always be true to yourself, and be sure to be who God created you to be! Strive to improve, and grow regularly regardless of any obstacles or challenges, because trust me they will happen. Work hard with what you have where you are at, take the course, read the books, feed your mind.  Be confident who you are, and what you stand for.  We are all different, and can learn and grow from each other, be consistent, set goals, and never give up!

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I’m currently working on growing and scaling my cleaning business Queens Of Clean established in 2018.  We specialize in quality commercial/residential cleaning service. By doing this I have a business mentor/coach while setting goals regularly.  I’m open to change feedback and improvement to better myself as a leader along with the business.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

I’d say the top three qualities that are important in development would be:
1. Learning/train constantly never think you know it all
2.Take advice from people who have already done it or are currently.
3. Be on time and consistent
I also really love the quote: There is no elevator to success you have to take the stairs!  It’s so true!!

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?

The advice I can share is being an owner can be very overwhelming at times, but learning to delegate and hire people that specialize in areas you don’t is ok! We don’t have to wear all the hats sometimes trying to do everything yourself will burn you out.  Be sure to take self care time, and have a work life balance.
