We were lucky to catch up with Valerie Stancill recently and have shared our conversation below.

Valerie, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.

Finding My Purpose Through Pain: A Journey of Resilience and Healing

Life has a way of breaking your heart to fix your vision. This poignant truth resonates deeply with me, as I reflect on the myriad experiences that have shaped my journey. I am a firm believer that the trials I’ve faced have not only defined who I am but have illuminated the path I was meant to walk.

We often march through life with a preconceived notion of how things should unfold, convinced we have it all figured out. But is that really true? My life has been a testament to the unpredictability of existence. I’ve navigated the depths of depression and battled the demons of low self-esteem. I’ve grappled with what I call “little girl syndrome,” a misguided belief that I had all the answers, only to discover the profound lessons hidden in my struggles.

The loss of my beloved husband after 34 years to a rare lung disease was a heart-wrenching chapter that tested my very essence. Yet, it was in that darkness that I began to understand the light of my purpose. More recently, I faced another heartbreak when I married a man whom I believed to be a man of God, only to uncover the painful reality of his covert narcissism after just 10 months. Each experience seemed designed to shatter my illusions and reveal the strength I never knew I possessed.

There were moments when I found myself teetering on the brink, grappling with suicidal ideation. Yet, by the grace of God, I found my way back to solid ground. It was through these harrowing experiences that I learned the invaluable lesson: my pain was not in vain. It was a catalyst for transformation.

Today, I stand as an 8-time Amazon bestselling author, a Resilience Strategist, and a worldwide speaker. My journey has equipped me with the tools to help others navigate their own turbulent waters. I now understand that every challenge I faced was a stepping stone to my purpose. Each scar tells a story of survival and growth, and each tear shed has watered the seeds of my resilience.

I can now say with a heart full of gratitude that I am thankful for every twist and turn life has thrown my way. I embrace my identity as a resilient, healing, confident woman of God. My mission is to share this message of hope and strength with others, encouraging them to find their own purpose amidst their pain.

In a world that often feels chaotic and overwhelming, it’s vital to remember that our struggles can lead us to profound realizations about who we are and what we are meant to do. Finding purpose is not a destination; it is an ongoing journey of self-discovery, fueled by the lessons learned through our experiences.

So, to anyone reading this who feels lost or overwhelmed, know that your pain can be your greatest teacher. Embrace it, learn from it, and let it guide you toward the vision you were meant to see. Just as my heart was broken to fix my vision, yours can be too. Your purpose awaits—dare to discover it!

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

I am several time bestselling author, certified domestic violence advocate, Resilience Strategist, world wide speaker and podcast host for Speak Up & Speak Loud.

I love how people can perceive who you are from what they see outwardly, but have no idea what is going on inside. Inside the laughs and smile you exhibit for people to seen, but deal with private struggles in the house.

In a world that often glorifies the facade of perfection, the journey to self-discovery can be riddled with disappointments, setbacks, and emotional turmoil. For many, the path to understanding one’s purpose and identity is not a smooth one. It’s a winding road marked by struggles with depression, low self-esteem, and the innate desire to please others, often at the expense of one’s true self. This is a journey that one courageous woman has navigated, transforming her pain into a beacon of hope for others.

Having faced profound trauma and emotional upheaval, she learned a crucial lesson: sometimes, you must be broken to be remade. This realization has become the cornerstone of my life’s work, guiding me focus on continued healing and the understanding that healing is not a linear process. It is a journey of discovery, where one learns to embrace the complexities of life and the myriad experiences that shape us.

Today, I dedicate my life to empowering women, helping them heal holistically—mind, body, and spirit. By sharing my story, I encourage others to recognize their worth and understand their purpose in this intricate tapestry of life. My approach emphasizes that true healing involves delving deep into oneself, understanding the underlying reasons behind our actions, reactions, and the patterns we attract.

An accomplished author, I have penned several books on the topic of depression, grief and toxic and narcissistic relationships with her latest work, “Wolf Behind the Cross: Unmasking the Secrets of the Church.” This poignant book unveils the painful truth of my ten-month marriage to a bishop, revealing the devastating impact of covert narcissism. Through my storytelling, I shed light on the maliciousness and control that can permeate relationships, particularly those cloaked in the guise of authority and trust.

Beyond my writing, I am a sought-after speaker, addressing audiences worldwide on issues of narcissistic abuse, toxic relationships, and the journey of healing. My voice resonates with many who have experienced similar struggles, offering not just understanding, but actionable steps to move forward.

In addition to my speaking engagements, I has developed several healing courses and coaching programs. These initiatives provide a space for one-on-one and group coaching, allowing individuals to explore their healing journeys in a supportive environment. My commitment to my clients is unwavering, offering discovery calls to connect and determine the best path forward for those seeking to reclaim their lives.

As I continue to share my story and guide others on their paths to healing, my message is clear: you are not alone. The journey may be challenging, but it is also an opportunity for growth and transformation. With each story shared and each woman empowered, I am helping to create a community of resilience and strength.

For those who resonate with my journey, the invitation is open. Reach out, engage, and take the first step towards healing. The journey may be long, but with support, understanding, and dedication, wholeness is within reach.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

1. Resilience
Resilience is the ability to recover from setbacks, adapt to change, and keep going in the face of adversity.

2. Self-Awareness
Self-awareness involves understanding one’s own thoughts, emotions, and behaviors and recognizing how they influence personal experiences and interactions.

3. Holistic Healing Knowledge
Holistic healing encompasses understanding and addressing the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit in the healing process.

Together, these qualities not only enhance individual lives but also create a ripple effect, enabling those who embody them to help themselves and support and uplift others in their healing journey.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

I am passionate about empowering individuals on their healing journeys from domestic abuse, toxic relationships, and narcissistic dynamics. I am reaching out to explore potential collaboration opportunities with podcast hosts, magazine editors, speaker services, women’s ministry groups, and domestic violence centers and shelters.

With a background in holistic healing and a commitment to supporting those affected by these challenges, I believe that together we can create impactful discussions, resources, and support systems for those in need.
