Meet Vanessa And Kevin Boggiano

We recently connected with Vanessa And Kevin Boggiano and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Vanessa and Kevin , appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

As both entrepreneurs and parents, resilience is cultivated through several key practices:

1. Time management and prioritization: The ability to balance family and work responsibilities is crucial. Having a well-organized routine and knowing when to delegate or ask for help can reduce stress and allow you to face challenges more effectively.
2. Positive mindset: Maintaining an optimistic attitude, even when circumstances are tough, is essential. As an entrepreneur, this might mean dealing with failures or unexpected events, and as a parent, it could involve handling emotional or developmental challenges with your children.
3. Flexibility and adaptability: Being able to adapt quickly to changes, whether in your business or family dynamics, is one of the most important traits of resilience. Mental flexibility allows you to see difficulties not as insurmountable obstacles but as opportunities to learn and improve.
4. Social support and trusted networks: Both in your family and business environment, surrounding yourself with supportive people is vital. You can find resilience through a network of friends, mentors, colleagues, or family members who help you navigate difficult times.
5. Self-care: Physical and emotional stress can weaken resilience. As both an entrepreneur and a parent, it’s crucial to dedicate time to care for your well-being, whether through exercise, rest, or time for yourself, to be in the best shape for both your family and business.
6. Learning from failures: Every setback is an opportunity to learn. As an entrepreneur, business failures teach you valuable lessons, and as a parent, challenges in raising your children also provide chances to grow and improve your parenting skills.

Building resilience isn’t something that happens overnight, but through consistent practice of these strategies, you can strengthen your ability to handle the challenges you face in both roles.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

Living the American Dream: The Story of Two Spoons Peruvian Kitchen

We are Kevin and Vanessa, two Peruvians who left our beloved homeland to pursue the American dream. Leaving Peru wasn’t easy, but we were determined to build a future for our family and share the richness of Peruvian cuisine with the world.

Vanessa, my wife, is a chef who graduated from the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu in Peru. Her passion for cooking took her to Spain, where she honed her skills before deciding to settle in Miami. As for me, I’m an international business graduate. Back in Peru, I ran three businesses, and while I left one operating, I chose to take a leap of faith and pursue this dream.

We are a hardworking, entrepreneurial couple with a clear mission: to share the authentic flavors of Peru with our customers while building a legacy for our two sons, Stefano (8 years old) and Lorenzo (4 years old). They are our greatest inspiration, the reason we never give up, no matter how challenging the journey gets.

That’s how Two Spoons Peruvian Kitchen was born—a concept that combines the warmth of a bakery with the experience of a full-fledged restaurant. Here, you can enjoy everything from a homemade breakfast to a traditional dinner paired with iconic Peruvian cocktails. Every dish on our menu has a story to tell. They’re family recipes, prepared with love and care. Even the desserts are crafted by our children’s grandmother, “Nonna Naty,” who pours her heart into every treat she bakes.

We want everyone who visits our restaurant to have an unforgettable experience, to feel the warmth of a Peruvian home, and to savor the freshness and authenticity of our dishes. Everything we serve is made from scratch—from the bread to the tamales—and we work hard to embody the flavors and traditions that make us proud to be Peruvian.

But our vision doesn’t stop here. With God’s blessing, we hope to expand this dream, opening more restaurants that share the same spirit: offering our customers the best and leaving a lasting impression on their hearts.

Every day, no matter how tough it gets, we find reasons to smile and keep going. We know this is just the beginning, and with hard work and faith, we’re confident that Two Spoons Peruvian Kitchen will be the first of many successes.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

“The Power of Determination and Focus”

Our story is proof that with determination and focus, no dream is too big, and no obstacle is impossible to overcome. When we left our home country, Peru, we didn’t know exactly what awaited us, but one thing was certain: our passion and our goals would guide us.

Pursuing a dream means taking risks, making sacrifices, and facing challenges, but it also means keeping your eyes fixed on the purpose that drives you. There were difficult days, moments of uncertainty, and doubts, but we always reminded ourselves why we started. Our children, our passion for cooking, and our desire to share our culture with the world were reason enough to keep going.

Focus isn’t just about knowing what you want; it’s about committing to work every day to achieve it. Every dish we serve, every smile we see from our customers, and every small step toward our goals is a victory that strengthens our purpose.

To anyone fighting to achieve their dreams, here’s what we’ve learned:
1. Believe in your vision. It doesn’t matter if others don’t see it at first; what matters is that you see it clearly.
2. Do it with passion. When you love what you do, even the tough moments have meaning.
3. Be consistent. Results don’t happen overnight, but every effort adds up.
4. Surround yourself with support. Whether it’s family, friends, or mentors, the people who believe in you will be your anchor on hard days.
5. Never give up. Big dreams take hard work, but they’re always worth it.

Today, as we see Two Spoons Peruvian Kitchen taking shape, we understand that the key isn’t avoiding challenges but facing them with courage. And this is just the beginning of a journey full of possibilities.

You can achieve your dreams too. All you need is determination, focus, and the courage to take that first step. The best is yet to come!

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?

Our Faith and Family: The Foundation of Our Dream”

If there’s one thing that has been essential in this journey, it’s our faith in God. From the very beginning, we’ve trusted that with His guidance, everything would be possible. There were moments of uncertainty and days when things seemed impossible, but we always felt there was a greater purpose behind our efforts. We firmly believe that God opens doors where there seem to be none, and that faith has given us the strength to keep moving forward.

Alongside our faith, our family has been our greatest support. We’ve learned that dreams are easier to achieve when you’re surrounded by the people you love. Our family not only inspires us but also works alongside us. From Vanessa in the kitchen to Grandma Naty crafting desserts, everyone contributes in their own way. Even our children, Stefano and Lorenzo, motivate us to give our best every day as we build a future for them.

We know we couldn’t have made it this far without these two pillars: our faith and our family. They are our foundation, our motivation, and the reason we never give up. We want everyone who visits Two Spoons Peruvian Kitchen to feel that love and unity, which are part of every recipe, every detail, and every smile we share.

With God and our family by our side, we know this dream is not only possible but also has a greater purpose: to inspire others to believe, to fight for their dreams, and to cherish what matters most in life.
