We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Vanessa Cohn a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Vanessa, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
I get it from my mom. We lived in the Philippines in her hometown when I was born, for a few years, and when we moved to the states she had to work, and she worked so hard. 12 hour days. Day in and day out.
She did that and I watched her as I grew up.
My dad was around some but he worked too, so from a young age I was caring for a younger sibling and myself. I started working as soon as I could and always picked up extra shifts to help me get through school and even after school.
Because my mom worked so hard, I learned to work hard, and I still do.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’m an integrative health coach, nutritionist, and personal trainer specializing in women’s health—specifically helping women restore their metabolism, balance their hormones, and reclaim their energy after burnout, chronic stress, or years of dieting.
What I do is rooted in my own healing journey. I spent years stuck in the cycle of yo-yo dieting, trying to “push through” exhaustion, and wondering why I couldn’t feel or look the way I used to—despite doing everything I was told was “healthy.” It wasn’t until I started addressing the deeper root causes—like hormone imbalance, mineral deficiencies, gut health, and nervous system dysregulation—that I finally began to feel like myself again. That transformation is what drives my work today.
Now, I support women through a whole-person approach that combines strategic nutrition, personalized functional lab testing, nervous system regulation, and strength training. Through both my private coaching and my signature program, Radiant Woman Reset, I help women rebuild their metabolism, restore hormone balance, and create sustainable health from the inside out.
What’s most exciting about my work is seeing women reconnect to their bodies—not just for the number on the scale, but to feel strong, clear, energized, and capable again. Whether they’re struggling with stubborn weight, period problems, mood swings, or fatigue, my mission is to guide them back to a place of balance and resilience.
Right now, I’m gearing up for the next launch of Radiant Woman Reset, my signature women’s hormone balance program, which includes expanded lab testing options, new training protocols, and enhanced support for metabolism, digestion, and emotional health. It’s a deeply transformative program designed for the high-achieving woman who’s tired of feeling burned out and finally ready to heal—fully.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
From a business standpoint, you need to know how to communicate what you do. You can develop this with learning oration skills, as well as marketing through different channels like social media, print, visually, and auditorily.
Another skill you need is listening skills. I work with clients and listening to them share their experience is key to giving them effective coaching and helping them get to the root cause of their issues. Develop active listening skills and slow down the conversation so the person you are speaking with is heard and understood. Take time to ask questions that have them expand on things, so that you learn more.
And lastly I’ll share a quality that is important in what I do, and that is genuinely caring for people. This goes a long way because people can sense if you genuinely care for them as a person, which can help the coaching relationship go a long way.
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
Yes, I’m always open to meaningful collaborations—especially with other wellness professionals and businesses who are passionate about helping women thrive.
I love partnering with local gyms, fitness studios, wellness centers, and holistic practitioners (like chiropractors, acupuncturists, therapists, or functional medicine providers) who serve women navigating hormone issues, weight loss struggles, or burnout. I offer educational workshops, guest speaking, wellness events, and joint programs that provide real value to your clients and community.
If you’re someone who believes in a root-cause, whole-person approach to health and wants to create deeper impact together, I’d love to connect.
