Meet Vanessa FairyAnn

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Vanessa FairyAnn a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Vanessa with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?

My work ethic really comes from my upbringing and early life experiences. Growing up, things weren’t easy financially. I went through the foster care system, and even though my basic needs were eventually met, I noticed pretty quickly that anything beyond that—things I wanted or even things I felt I truly needed—weren’t always a priority or accessible through my parents. If I wanted something, I had to work for it. That taught me early on that no one was going to hand me anything.

Later, when I became an entrepreneur in my younger adult life, that lesson only deepened. I realized you really get back what you put in. Whether it’s your business, your physical health, your mental health, or even how you carry yourself—effort equals outcome. That mindset became the foundation of how I approach everything: with consistency, accountability, and a strong belief in showing up for myself even when no one else is watching.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I’m a multidisciplinary creative and holistic entrepreneur, and through my brand VFA Creations, I focus on helping people reconnect with their wellness through herbs, food, movement, and self-care. I create herbal products, teach about natural health, and share my own journey to inspire others to start where they are and build the life they want—physically, spiritually, and creatively.

One of the most exciting things right now is that I’ve just shifted to my new website and brand design, which better reflects the energy and growth of this new chapter. I’m also preparing to launch a series of Herbal Workshops—both virtual and in-person—where I’ll be teaching others how to start their own herbal holistic businesses from the ground up. It’s something I’m deeply passionate about because I built mine with limited resources, and I know what it’s like to learn, hustle, and manifest as you go.

In addition to my wellness work, I’ll also be releasing new music soon. Music has always been a part of who I am, and I’m excited to finally share that side with the world too.

This is a season of expansion, alignment, and abundance for me. I’m grateful to be able to share what I love, and even more grateful for the people who support, learn, and grow with me

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back, I’d say the three qualities that had the biggest impact on my journey were discernment, learning from failure, and positive thinking.

Discernment is major—whether people want to believe it or not, being able to read energy, intentions, and timing can literally protect your spirit, your business, and your path. It’s something I developed by having to make tough choices early on, and by paying attention to what felt aligned vs. what drained me. For anyone early in their journey, I’d say take your time observing before acting. Not everyone or everything is meant to be a part of your next chapter, and that’s okay.

Failure has also been one of my best teachers. It can sting in the moment, but if you reflect on it with honesty, it shows you where to grow, pivot, or level up. I stopped fearing failure once I realized it was simply feedback—not a final answer. My advice is: don’t let pride keep you from progress. Take the lessons, but don’t carry the weight.

And finally, positive thinking has been essential. Not in a fake-it-til-you-make-it way, but in the sense of choosing to see possibilities when things feel stuck. Your mindset can either limit or liberate you. I’ve had to affirm my vision when it looked like nothing was working—but holding onto belief is often what carried me into breakthroughs.

No matter where you start, if you stay discerning, embrace your lessons, and think upward, you’ll be amazed how far you can go.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

Yes, I’m definitely looking to collaborate! I have a lot of visual ideas I’m ready to bring to life, and I’m currently seeking passionate creatives to build with—especially videographers, photographers, editors, directors, producers, and even fellow herbalists. If you’re someone who loves storytelling through visuals, believes in holistic living, or just vibes with creative, soulful work—I’d love to connect.

I’m building something that blends healing, art, and entrepreneurship, and I know that collaboration is key to taking it to the next level.
