We recently connected with Venaé Breonna and have shared our conversation below.
Venaé, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
I wholeheartedly believe that God grants us each a unique and profound purpose in this world. For me, this purpose has been discovered and refined through life’s trials and challenges. Each obstacle we face has the power to transform us into a stronger, more resilient version of ourselves. I made a conscious choice to allow every challenge to shape me into a better person, unwilling to let adversity define my journey.
Throughout my experiences, I have come to firmly believe that every single individual possesses a divine calling and a purpose that ignites an unyielding determination within us to persevere. It is during those moments when reality seemingly fails to align with our aspirations that true self-discipline becomes the pillar of success. The unwavering commitment to follow our calling, even in the face of skepticism or discouragement, is what sets us apart.
From a tender age, I have always been a dreamer, compelled to continuously push the boundaries of what is possible. I recognized early on that to keep moving forward, I had to continually challenge myself to think beyond conventional boundaries and venture outside the confines of my comfort zone. My purpose, at its core, is rooted in serving others. However, the path to fulfilling this purpose has been both confirmed and tested in the fires of life.
My life’s mission is crystal clear: to accelerate impact for generations to come through the transformative power of creativity, empowerment, education, and invaluable resources. Each day, I strive to empower individuals to embrace their purpose and tap into their inner potential, knowing that their unique gifts have the power to create extraordinary ripples of change that extend far beyond their own lives.
In embracing the warmth of compassion, the tenacity of empowerment, and the limitless possibilities of education, I am wholeheartedly committed to leaving a lasting legacy. Together, we can shape a future where every person feels empowered to pursue their passions, make a difference, and create a world that is filled with boundless opportunities and unapologetic self-expression.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
From a young age, I’ve felt God’s guidance shaping my path. Raised by a single mother who was a Mary Kay director, I was mesmerized by her poise and elegance, always impeccably groomed. Those early impressions sparked a curiosity about the beauty world that would eventually define my journey.
High school was a challenging time marked by relentless bullying, leaving me with major insecurities. It was during this period of vulnerability that I discovered the transformative power of makeup. With a brush in hand, I found peace in creating artistry, initially sharing my talent with the theater department, unknowingly sowing seeds for my future.
My beauty venture officially began in my college dorm room, offering makeovers for only $10. Little did I know that this humble start would blossom into a full-fledged career spanning seven years. What commenced as dabbling in makeup evolved into a comprehensive exploration of the beauty industry.
In a cramped dorm room, I started on the journey of self-teaching lash extensions, relying on the trust of my makeup clients who seamlessly transitioned into my lash clientele. Despite the spatial constraints, I devoted countless hours perfecting my craft, leveraging YouTube tutorials and relentless practice to refine my skills.
The turning point arrived after months of persistence, marked by the recognition of my efforts and growing clientele. In October 2023, I made a pivotal decision to transition from being a licensed beauty service provider to a digital creator, podcast host, and beauty business educator, amplifying my impact on a global scale.
Beyond professional endeavors, I am deeply committed to community empowerment, channeling my passion into initiatives supporting youth development and aiding the homeless. At my church, I serve as a group leader and member of the praise and worship team, striving to uplift and inspire those around me.
My journey embodies a fusion of faith, creativity, and service, driving me to empower women in the beauty industry. Each day, I am grateful for the opportunity to fulfill my purpose and make a meaningful difference.

This immersive experience promises to equip aspiring and established beauty enthusiasts with the skills and confidence to excel in lash artistry. There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I have dedicated myself to cultivating three essential qualities: self-discipline, coach-ability, and joy. These attributes are irreplaceable for every entrepreneur, requiring daily attention to sustain a resilient focus and maintain an inspiring vision despite setbacks and challenges.
Starting on the entrepreneurial path demands unwavering self-control. While human fallibility is inevitable, each day presents lessons to be learned, you need to commit to self-accountability.
Moreover, continual learning is beyond important, positioning one ahead not only in the competitive landscape but also in personal growth. Procrastination steals progress. I’ve experienced the consequences of repetitively treading the same path, feeling trapped. Embracing change and growth is fundamental to evolving into the best version of oneself.
Lastly, nurturing and balancing joy is crucial amidst life’s harsh realities. Whether through faith, familial bonds, friendships, or artistic expression, finding sources of joy is vital. Reminding myself daily of these sources ensures I stay aligned with my goals.
To those embarking on their entrepreneurial journey, remember that procrastination obstructs progress. Approach each day as an opportunity to invest in the future version of yourself. Your commitment to your dreams hinges on your daily habits and the cultivation of drive and discipline. Never stop and never settle. Keep challenging yourself day by day and before you know it, you’ll look up and won’t recognize yourself.
To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?
My parents sacrificed a lot for my education. Growing up in Baltimore, all the odds were against me. They poured endless wisdom and value into me. Without them, I wouldn’t be here today.
