Meet Venus Sol

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Venus Sol. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Venus, appreciate you making time for us and sharing your wisdom with the community. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others overcame obstacles can be helpful. One of those struggles is keeping creativity alive despite all the stresses, challenges and problems we might be dealing with. How do you keep your creativity alive?

The best way to keep your creativity alive, in my opinion, is to keep both your mind and heart open. You can’t be afraid to be vulnerable or to try new and weird things. I often find it hard to be vulnerable with others or to allow my inner world to show and I find that this is when I feel the most stuck. My creativity comes from my emotions and if I’m not connecting with myself in that sense it’s very difficult to create authentically.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

Hey friends! I’m a Pittsburgh born NYC raised singer-songwriter that’s still searching for herself and path on this creative journey. In the beginning of 2024 I released my first single called Play after years of wanting to make my debut but never taking the leap. Singing, performance, and artistic expression is my passion and all I want to do is to share it with the world in hopes of helping at least one person in some way. I’m only in the very beginning of my journey; I’m looking forward to all it’ll bring.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Being resourceful is extremely important in any creative field. In order to bring your ideas to life you have to know how to use your resources or how to accommodate in areas that you’re lacking. Every artist needs to possess this skill in my opinion.
Being involved within a creative community is also pretty important. You can have all of the talent in the world but if you don’t know the right people you won’t go anywhere. A lot of people use each other because of this fact but being genuine amongst other creatives takes you so much further than being a social climber. The people that can really help you can tell when you’re just using others for personal gain and that’s not the foundation you should want.
Lastly, experience and try new things! The more life experience you gain the more you’ll feel inspired. Inspiration is found everywhere.

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?

My only parent is my mom and the most impactful thing she’s done for me is allow me to be who I am. She’s allowed me to make decisions she doesn’t agree with, she lets me make my own mistakes, and most importantly she doesn’t try to force me on a path because “she knows best”. Because of this I’ve never been afraid to experiment and take leaps. I feel this is where my confidence comes from because I’ve always been able to authentically express myself.
