Meet Veronica Farren

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Veronica Farren. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Veronica, thank you so much for joining us. You are such a positive person and it’s something we really admire and so we wanted to start by asking you where you think your optimism comes from?
I have always been care-free, probably because I’m naturally careless. Optimism comes easily with the confidence of constantly conquering your own obstacle courses! I have a ridiculous amount of practice picking locks, finding things I’ve lost, fixing things, and navigating my way out of the woods. I’m not worried about much because I know from experience that I’ll be able to deal with it, and that each wild goose chase I send myself on makes me even more resourceful!

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I’m a TV and event host, interviewer, and entertainment reporter. I worked as a fashion model for years, so I love to cover the behind-the-scenes magic of runway shows, red carpets, festivals, premieres, performances, and all the different creative scenes that LA has to offer. In such an exciting city full of passionate people, my job is always a party!

Recently, I took on a very different role hosting the Lake Tahoe-area morning show, Tahoe Today. Rather than nightlife, I’m reporting on wildlife, road conditions and the weather forecast. Working in local news broadcasting has proven to be its own adventure!

I also paint murals, perform spoken word poetry, and collaborate on music projects writing lyrics and recording vocals. Before the SAG-AFTRA strike, I was a commercial actress and recently worked on some very cool indie horror films. Variety is the spice of life!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Versatility, enthusiasm, and an open mind- When someone invites me to be a part of their creative project, I’m not the artist, I’m the art! My advice is to go with the flow and try to match the vibe, whether you have hair, makeup, wardrobe, and one take to get it right, or spend 8 hours hanging out in a warehouse with 50 other people wondering what’s going on. I can’t honestly say I prefer one over the other. A lot of times, I never see a photo or hear of a project again after leaving the set, but sometimes, magic is made where I least expected it.

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?
I have the world’s most supportive parents! They have always been the greatest cheerleaders no matter what I do and how often or dramatically that changes. I’ve never gotten the vibe that my parents had any preference as to what my siblings and I do with our lives… I think they just genuinely enjoy us.
