Meet Veronica Olga

We were lucky to catch up with Veronica Olga recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Veronica Olga, thank you for joining us today and sharing your experiences and acquired wisdom with us. Burnout is a huge topic these days and so we’d love to kick things off by discussing your thoughts on overcoming or avoiding burnout

Burnout was once a consequence of not checking in with myself often. Today I evaluate my direction and benefits often. I ask myself if what I am doing is aligned with my goals. I measure my energy and where it goes. I avoid distractions and wasted energy on things that take me off track.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

Modern Guidance ™️ is my published book that I developed in order to share my experiences, insights and lessons that are empowering. I also founded a nonprofit organization named Sacred United to support children without advocates in the mental health space. I currently volunteer at Child Protective Services several hours a month.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Personal power is the most valuable asset we can possess. As a child I was neglected and had no fundamental support due to being raised by a Paranoid Schizophrenic mother. The first aspect of myself that I developed was my ability to recognize patterns. This ability developed my understanding of growth and development. I started my personal development journey at a young age in order to survive and support others.

What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?

This year has been one of the most challenging yet. I took a break from my routines and obligations in order to reassess my strengths and weaknesses. I allowed the things that no longer served me to fall away. I took inventory of the lessons gained from challenges. I removed outdated beliefs and goals to prevent future reoccurring problems. I simplified my life in order to move forward in a productive way.
